You shouldnt join the covenant unless you want the game to get harder =/ It doesnt allow you to summon or be summoned... the only real purpose is that it lets you farm enemies and I suppose the prizes are decent for whatever ranks... =w=

I only ever joined twice because I was trying to farm a specific piece of armor and somehow managed to clear all of the specific type of enemy off the map =w= And the other time was titanite farming because I cleared all those creatures off the map as well...

You can go to the cat in majula to leave covenants or just go to the guy sitting by the statue and join the way of blue (or any other covenant you might have found)? Either way would get you out of the covenant of champions~ And yes bosses also get stronger =w=
