Are they? From what I understand, Shaman mainly fight with spirit or empower themselves with spiritual power, whereas Witch Doctor from what I've seen uses reanimated bodies for their bidding to aid them. :S

I based it off fantasy of what I read, not just WoW, as for their real life counter part, I guess I don't know they existed, maybe Shamanism, not sure I've heard of Witch Doctor in real life before.
