Anyone here knows stuff about fansubs? Im trying to figure out whether subs in Coalgirl's releases are hard or soft, but I have no luck so far. Im newbie in that department

Most fansubs use soft subs nowadays. I haven't downloaded from Coalgirls in quite a while but I think they have soft subs. If a video is an .mkv then it's likely to be soft-subbed, although of course it's no guarantee

Depends on the player you're using too. VLC allows for subtitles being turned on/off, 123 Media doesn't.
