Just finished a marathon of Yes! Pretty Cure 5!
I would have considered this season one of the top 3 of the Pretty Cure franchise, except for two things that, IMO, hurt an otherwise fine season.

First, about halfway through, they introduced one of the most amoral, annoying, irritating good guy characters ever. Worse, they gave her a key role.
Second, the ending was totally unbelievable. Although, to give them credit, this is the first time I've ever seen the head villain defeated in such a way. And, to be fair, it is totally in character for Cure Dream to resolve things in such a way.
