[LPW #96] Overhyped Anime

When everything is said and done, good quality shows through, and bad quality sinks the boat, regardless of the hype. For example, it's fair to say Sword Art Online was heavily hyped. Do you think the hype was worth it?

Leggy tries to make FinalPyre explode. It is only mildly effective.

As for timeslots, it's up to the creators to make an anime fit the appropriate slot. Sometimes they succeed, sometimes not. For example, Gingitsune fit 12 episodes nicely, while Haruhi Suzumiya's Endless Eight arc was a waste that could have been cropped to two episodes. Fortunately popular anime series, like Log Horizon, often get sequels, for those who want more.

The timeslot is a limitation of design. In many instances they just can't wrap up a show nicely in 12 episodes, and then you get things like:
fanservice episodes (because saunas are new and original)
drawn-out deduction scenes (for audiences that weren't paying attention to anything)
making melodrama go way over the top (it takes longer if they cry longer)
rabbit trails (filler episodes - sometimes good, usually not great)

Often just little bits of all of those sprinkled throughout that don't add anything substantial to the show other than time buffer.

Hi ana

GenKiDan;
Oh, so ... 0,0 the pc version is, or maybe is, superior despite the shoddy port. That makes the console version not sound too impressive, besides the concept and fun gameplay aside that is. Oh well, :} Back to PC then, I do have a ps4 controller I'm using on the pc now after all.
If you have a controller you're set. :)
PC version runs better, and if you take the 5 min to drop in a mod or two, it looks a lot better as well. Probably also easier to get for cheaper. I bought it for $6 during the last Steam sale.

What have you been playing lately ? I just finished an old console game few days ago. That was fun ! (I even had to ponder about some puzzles in it for a while, thats when I realized, Heeey, this really is one of the older games)
I've been playing Dark Souls 2, and played some DOOM yesterday haha. I think I'm done with DS2 until it comes out on PC in the next few weeks. I'll probably go back to Skyrim before then, since I still have tons to do in that game :D
And gotta love the old games. I still play games on the SNES from time to time. :runhappy:

I can't say that being used by this magic imouto is that fun...

The lpw is soviet russia!?!? I was wondering why Lenin was over there....
