I can see if it goes completely off topic with other people, but as long as the conversation is with the person that created the thread I don't see what the issue is?

It isn't what the purpose of introduction thread is, I mean I don't mind too much chatting there, but I sometime see a full blown discussion which is just silly. But people should still refrain from having a large conversation inside the introduction thread, as the purpose of it is to introduce yourself, not to have a conversation...
