Yes, he is still president, and has the power of the presidency, but he won't get anything major done without the cooperation of Congress (and vice versa.)

His major concern now, is to not make his political party look bad over the next two years.

Ahhh, the joys of American politics!

1st, He sabotaged himself. For the first two years of his presidency, he had a Democratic majority in both houses of Congress. He passed several measures, involving Obamacare, immigration, the economy, and others. The legislation was sooo unpopular, that the American people gave the House, and now the Senate to the Republicans. Now, if he continues his plans, the Democrats could lose the Presidency in two years.

In the end, it's the American people who decide.

2nd, I totally agree that Democrats and Republicans fight like cats and dogs. It's always been that way. The Dems played the same games against Bush Jr. that the Reps play against Obama.

There's more trash talking and back-stabbing going on in politics, than there is in professional wrestling!
