Why is Chrono Trigger put on such a high pedestal? It`s story was average at best and the combat system was far too clunky. The music and art were amazing but I don`t see why everyone always says the entire game was flawless. And as for revolutionizing the JRPG genre like it`s said to have done...very few of it`s original mechanics were ever used in later JRPG games. Maybe the ATB system in some of Squares games afterward, but that hardly counts since Square made Chrono Trigger.

It wasn`t a bad game, I just don`t know what everyone sees in it. Maybe I`m missing something...
