Did you get a ticket?

yep, one for a expired license plate (didn't know it was expired) and another since I didn't have my updated auto insurance card on me. So I have to go to court next month to prove I currently have insurance. Just need to bring my updated insurance card and they will drop the ticket, not the first time this has happened.

Ouch! Expired license plate? Not sure about Illinois, but in California every other year we're required to get smog checks. Although I understand the reason for the requirement I just hate doing it. And because I hate doing it I wait until the last possible moment to do the smog check and pay, which then it takes me another month to put the new tags on the license plate. The whole process is too cumbersome.

So, you only received a ticket for the outdated insurance card? Which showing proof of insurance will wipe both the expired license and outdated insurance?
