in U.S.A. you need to be 18 to vote, enlist to military, buy cigarettes, marry, immediately get your license (it's possible to get a full license at 16 though)

you can't drink alcohol until you're 21 though. well legally anyways

their drinking age is 18. so is everything else for them basically. if someone is a regular at somewhere that sells liquor, than usually they're able to send their son or other underaged relatives. that's something that used to be allowed here in fact
