I don't know if that was intended to be a bad or good thing. But I've heard some bad stuff happening in the LPWs now and then so I take it that it was meant as something bad.

As far as I am aware, there is no plural. You have, the adverb 'lately', here, which gives info on how or how often the verb 'dropping by' is done. Take out 'these (and possibly 'just' as well)' from the sentence and your problem should be solved. While we're still on this sentence, I would like to make a simple correction and an edit: 'I've got' or 'I have got' instead of 'I got'. 'I got' is the slang version.

"I've got a knack for (just) dropping by, lately."

(x) with x being the word you may include.

English is fun, but, it makes me sound like a snob, at the same time.
