I think turning off pain signals in your own body pretty much just guarantees you an early demise. That and while you are alive you would keep having broken bones/burns/cuts etc. from hitting things where normal people would stop, but you didn't realize anything bad was happening...

Hmm but it sounded like he could turn it off at choice? Though yes it does do quite a bit... :x Like with typing... theyll probably bruise their fingers tons... since the sensor isnt there to tell how hard they should push...

Oh was this for a specific person? Well if you could voluntarily just turn it off for a while it might help you, but even then only a bit. The biggest thing it would let you do is do some activity to the point of destroying your body, and you might not want to turn them back on anytime after XD
