For me they made everything far too happy go lucky in the second season (or whatever was the answers season). I was used to people getting cleaved to bits, and now we had soldiers dancing down a mountain on logs. Large rolling logs are not danced on, they break people.

OVA's were indeed shit but the pool episode with the Soul Brothers was pretty good.

I could give this trying ecchi/fanservice back to Deen and put this on their faces, sacrifice them and put nails in their hands. This big franchise around Higurashi hasn't the place for that crap...

Okay, Soul Brothers were cool but that was so abstract! Some funny things have to happen there but don't forget, they survived the fate!

The other 4 OVA's (Kira?) had also the Soul Brothers but that was a bit more mystical and that's what I like. Kai had these 3 out of 5 episodes with the parallel world and what's about Rika Furude and Bernkastel. I'm still wondering what's really going on with that character. It isn't the mature Rika, is it a witch? Why is she there? And so on! Yes, that was a bit Higurashi but I believe this franchise had it completely done after Kira. Sadly they put it to crap instead of taking it at the level from the first and second season, I think the massive fanbase would buy it.
