Well Iggy, to be honest alcohol and smoking in moderate quantities damage your health a lot less than sleeping for 2-4 hours a day xDD

@Nemuru: While I kind of agree with you there, sleep is very important if you want to be healthy and function properly in the long run :P

@nemuru you might be thinking so... but from experiences people learn^^ it may be right that sleeping is a waste of time... but
Its better to take advice than later becomes too late ^^

sometimes i down want to fall asleep in lecture but... because of this i usually fall asleep in lecture...
There is also a lot of bad effect :3

Nemuru, I wish it could really be that easy. Imagine all the time you have lost by sleeping. And to think that many of my friends have no other things to do but uni stuff; so they sleep like even over 10 hours a day... that's like wasting almost 1/2 of your life just to sleep.

I think 4 hours should suffice for your needs. An additional hour wouldn't hurt just for the pleasure, and maybe more on holidays, but that's about it.

I still wouldn't smoke; no offence to those who do but to me it's just an activity done deliberately to ruin your health. And I don't feel the need for relieving effects smoking provides. While reducing sleeping time also ruins your health, it gives you a very valuable advantage - time! You can do more stuff~

4 hours of sleep is quite little. You need at lest 6 hours a day in order to assure your body will work efficiently throughout the day.
It also depends on what kind of activities you indulge in during the day. Generally with less than six hours you get really sleepy from all kinds of things. You also get tired a lot faster and you also get exhausted from little things and a lot faster than usual. There are also those headaches... xD
Basically after 1-2 years of that you become really sleepy really easy^^

For a person that's still growing it's a lot worse to sleep less than 6 hours a day even if it seems like a waste of time. Sleep deprivation in general leads to serious health problems.

All that coming form a person that sleeps for 4-5 hours a day sounds funny though xDD

Scientist said that the appropriate hours for an average person to sleep is 7 hours, no more no less.
While sleeping more or less causes heart problems(?) or some other side effects over the long run.

& Yeah, smokers are ... I'm not sure why they smoke too but i guess it's a habit already.
And alcoholic as well, they just can't stop, cause if they do after all this year, their system would just breakdown.
 
well i agree with joe. 6 hrs is the standard time for slp. Personally, i find slping less jus to save that little bit of time is useless since when you dont have enough slp, u cant work properly and feel sloppy, even thinking can be slow. For me, i need to keep 100 % efficiency during work where 1 simple and small mistake can lead to big screw up, i prefer to slp enough to feel fresh instead of trying to save that little time.
 
As I said before it depends on what you're doing. In Kou's case it requires a lot of concentration thus he gets tired at the end of the day. When I was working I was dead tired at the end of the day and was sleeping for 6-7 hours. Oh and there are those people who never seem to get tired but not sleeping is actually taking it's tow on them - it just isn't showing.

I feel a lot sleepier when I sleep more than those 4-5 hours I usually do. But I'm told that if you sleep for 7-8+ hours for 2-3 weeks in a row, you don't feel that way after you wake up. It's probably due to the fact that you're not used to sleeping that much and you wake up in the middle of one of the deeper stages of sleep. Guess it's too complicated for me xDD

Well , for students i think they can reduce some slp. For me who has heart problems and i was stubborn that period of time trying to slp for 4 hrs, i collapse for 3 months. After that event , i set 6 hrs for slp, may be 7 if extremely exhausted, since then i have not much health problems anymore and is feeling great~

Wait, nemu is an old lady now? I am confused - and why bother talking about sleeping? It's recommended to sleep between six and nine hours as an adult, more if you're still growing - any more or less is unhealthy and that's not going to change just because you screw up your internal clock.
