If a perfect, benevolent god exists, then shouldn`t he be able to tell when I`m being troubled? Does he not exist, or is he imperfect? Or is he perfect by his own definition but not by mine? What if he`s insane? Maybe he`s not benevolent, perhaps he decides when to help us and when to play with us based on how he feels at the time. What if he is not one, but many, and each act in their own way? Maybe he is simply a creation of man, a personification that we can turn to for help when scared and curse when in pain to make ourselves feel better about our situation.

Or maybe it`s a 'she'...now there`s a thought...
