I look forward to the 4th of july, we usually don't celebrate it but there is going to be a half hour of fireworks on display, and i love fireworks. :)
Usually we don't celebrate foreign holidays, normally our family celebrates it's independence day on february 22nd. It's been 151 years or so since the annexation of my home into the United States of America, but many in my homeland still celebrate the independence day of the Confederacy, 9 states have official confederate memorial days. Those days are usually celebrated more than the 4th of july in my hometown, and i always appreciated the huge firework displays and cookouts.
I'm sort of curious how you are going to spend your independence day, and how they celebrate independence day or other major national holidays in your country.
