Anime Sharing - Netorare General Discussion Thread

Boku Mama x Tomo Mama Koukan Hameppu Life sold well because, we straight-shota lovers are in a worst drought than NTR lovers. There is almost nothing worth it in the market: Complets it's not even the shadow of what it used to be, Doujin3Aries hasn't released anything since 2017 (probably death circle?), and any other works are just doujins with varied quality. That's probably the main reason Amaenbo sold over 20K copies on dlsite. I mean Amaenbo is a very good game, but I don't think it would have sold that much if it had some kind of competition. Straight-shota lovers will buy almost whatever you throw at them right now (and yes, I agree in which Boku Mamax Tomo is disappointing... even as a straight-shota standalone game).

If you are expecting some happy lucky swapping with watered down NTR feeling, then The new Anim game will not disappoint you. I foresee It will be a mix between Boku Mama x Tomo and Boku to Kanojo no Midara na Utage with highschool students. I've being pretty spot on on my predictions on the last AnimTeamMM games. I hope I'm wrong this time, but so far I think it won't be worth it (from a NTR perspective at least).

Publicity is also a good factor, there are game sher ei tried because of how much they are mentioned for example. Is like an ok song you heard again and agian until you find yourself humming it xD

Hey guys, be good and help me with a quick NTR survey. It will only take a couple of minutes:

https://forms.gle/ELBLfSqguJ2zScZ37

I want to know what you guys think. Feel free to comment in the survey, in here or by PM whatever thoughts you have.

Thank you in advance.

Interesting initial results. I think it might be worth making a new thread with this survey so it doesn't get lost. Or maybe a wider census of us degenerates to include options such as "write down favorite title". Someone left a comment about hidden sex, so favorite netorare situation seems like a good one that was missed (hidden sex, filmed footage, confession from heroine, taunt from antagonist etc). I think people should give opinions on good questions.

A lot of people don't want to bother with translation software or don't know how. F95 is literally an english dominated website, people don't go there to play japanese games. Unless off course they are in english. So not a big surprise.

Personal note I don't think your questions allowed for netorase answers at all as forms of NTR outside of "do u like netorase or netorase ending" lol.

Disapointing news about Marina 4. I wonder if they were being vague or if we just didn't understand Fantia. I've officially given up on Atelier Sakura. Thier games are just to generic and repetivie.

Well to be fair Marina succeed not just because of her character or netorase, but because out of all their games it has the most writing, length and likeable characters. Something most of their other games lack because Atelier turns out too many games (one a month) that feel short and repetitive because they aren't given time to really dig deeper beyond the initial stories plot line.

The issue is they need to spend more time on producing fewer games, and make longer ones with better characters and deeper stories.

My point is I think they do have some good ideas, but they seem so focused on this one new game a month release partner it doesn't give their stories or characters time to grow.

I'm curious honestly how their business model works/if it is successful. Is it like the same people that basically buy every game they release each month? Do they sell a lot of games from their back catalog? I'm really curious about that because unlike other eroge companies AS catalog is so big its easy to miss the few gems they have made between all the fluff. Or do they simple rely on revenue from that initial game sale each month of their new title, kind of like going from paycheck to paycheck to keep the lights on.

Or is it just funded by some super rich dude who is trying to flood the market with generic NTR games? I mean I can't actually think of ANY other eroge company anymore that releases a new game a month like them. Lilith-soft used to be king of monthly releases until they got the DMM fever.

It's been quite along time since I posted here, I spend quite a time on Rance X(what a beast game, totally masterpiece)

Lately I kinda attracted to fetish involving mother/son affair behind husband. I don't know why, but I engrossed in this type of stories and ended up buying bunch of doujin on Dlsite lol.

The problem with Atelier Sakura is that their once a month thing works. Their latest title, a standard wife netorare that they have done 100 times before, is ranked firmly in the middle of the Amazon sales charts for new releases, even beating Tone Work's new vanilla romance.

In addition to this, their production costs are down since they don't bundle them with reservation goods or do any marketing outside of their in-house social media stuff. I have never once seen an Atelier Sakura poster or a PV in any of the Traders, Toranoana, Softmap stores for example in Akihabara, although by sheer weight of numbers their titles actually own their own shelving sections in the eroge floors.

Question: is there any mystery in this story or just the standard boss x wife NTR staple?

Yes, it has mystery. But can we still call it "mystery" if we are served the same dish for the umpteenth time? Whether it's dialogue, the scenario or the mental state of the bride who only thinks with her pussy...
I just finished it, it's the usual eroge game served by Atelier Sakura every month. We read the story for the first time from the point of view of the protogonist and then when we start a second reading, we unlock the point of view of the unlocked bride.

After the "fake sequel of Marina", I think they're seriously starting to piss me off. :@:@
What the fuck ... There is so much to do, scenarios that have never been used for NTR and yet, Atelier Sakura are stuck in the same hellish spiral of bad production, one after another.

A lot of people don't want to bother with translation software or don't know how. F95 is literally an english dominated website, people don't go there to play japanese games. Unless off course they are in english. So not a big surprise.

They also moderate uploads heavily so any games with forbidden/taboo content will be judged before it can be uploaded. F95zone also has a heavy bias towards 3D content as well as having a very anti-NTR community.

Thanks a lot for your answers. Actually the survey was made on the fly and now that I'm reviewing it, it has some mistakes in it. Some info will become not reliable for me because of it, but it will still be interesting for any NTR fan. People is asking why I left out some things out, and the reason is this:

I'm going to make a NTR game (yes, another want-to-be-developer appears lol). When I was writing my story, I ran into some problems that made me question my initial intend. At first I wanted to do something simple, because it's my first VN, but as the story developed, new branches routes naturally appeared. I begin to wonder what would happen if I explore those branches and the end result was a somewhat complex decision tree. Since that kind of complexity defies my initial intend (make something simple), I wanted to go back and eliminate some routes, but some of the decisions seemed just so natural to me, that it was hard to eliminate them (I mean I think it's such a waste forcing a given route into the player, instead of making the player decides what he wants to do on that point). That kind of decision tree also allows to explore various different kinds of NTR situations and endings. But if you read my past comments, I've been criticizing the last ANIM games, because they try to focus on too many things, so I realized maybe I was making the same mistake. This led me to my actual predicament:

What do I sacrifice?
Focus (on favor of variety and fluency).
Fluency and variety (on favor of focus).

So I thought into making that survey, to have a clearer idea of what the players actually wants from a NTR work in general. As the survey is focused on the points I'm having doubts I let out a lot of NTR elements, mostly because I was sure of them: For instance the hidden-sex, phone call, locked camera angle, photos, videos, discovery, confession, antagonist taunting, shadow sex, sex sounds/moans/bed-creaking... etc... Those elements are something I have present all the time, I only have to decide which to use in a given story and when. That's also the reason I didn't include more netorase questions in the survey, because when I laid out the story, the netorase route flow was so natural, I didn't have any problems at all with it, the other routes were the ones that gave me problems (I don't consider this an spoiler because at this point nothing is set in stone yet).

So in short this is a survey mostly for my own interests, but also to gather some information I was curious about (like the kind of netori guy physical appearance people prefers). I hadn't made it with the purpose of being an extensive source of gathering NTR preferences. However, since people seemed to like it I think it's a good idea to make a new more extensive one with all the options we can have. So if no one else wants to do it I'll do a new one with more options and corrections (also because there are some questions and answers that are not formulated right and give unreliable data).

So you can give me your thoughts of what else should be added to the survey. When it's done, I'll publish a draft here for revision and if there is no more problems, I'll upload it in a new thread for you people to fill.

Definitely share the results, I also think you should make a topic for this though. Its just gonna get buried in this thread otherwise, with its own thread as you post result people can discuss it too.

Personal note I don't think your questions allowed for netorase answers at all as forms of NTR outside of "do u like netorase or netorase ending" lol.

I already answer this above. When I made the story I initially thought of two main routes: netorare-netorase to make the player decides which he/she prefers. Then as I wrote my story I realized there was a point earlier on the story that will need a decision from the player (to not feel forced). That's when all the problems and complexity begun. I may discard a lot of the concept, but I'll keep the characters, since I already have them well thought up (maybe put them in another situation, or maybe in the same situation if I can manage to fix the problems).

I already answered the question in lines above: The reason I didn't put them was because I'm clear on those elements and I have a very good idea of when to use them. Given the nature of the story I might have to let some out, but I understand their importance, that's the key point here. I'd rather go for a fluent storytelling, rather than force things just to include some elements in the story. I think fluency is an element that the best developers can put in their stories (like Rascou or Venus, you can really see how their stories just flow naturally).

Really cool. Been wanting for a this type of survey for a long time.

Glad you like it ;)

Hey guys, be good and help me with a quick NTR survey. It will only take a couple of minutes:

https://forms.gle/ELBLfSqguJ2zScZ37

I want to know what you guys think. Feel free to comment in the survey, in here or by PM whatever thoughts you have.

Thank you in advance.

Some comments from what people commented on the survey. Some of them has already being answered already in the lines above, so I'll focus in the ones that are not:

Favourite is Reverse NTR:
This might have to be included in the 2.0 version of the survey. Any more suggestions about it are welcome, since I'm not really familiar with that genre.

Prefer option to avoid the NTR since its gives it a more impact:
That's an interesting view. However how would you prefer it?
a. The heroine already cheated but the MC forgives her and they lived happily ever after (although with some scars) ever after. (True happy ending... sort of).
b. The MC avoids to be NTR altogether and the heroine doesn't ever cheat on him. I think this should be pulled out earlier in the story (and earlier ending before the middle of the story).

NTR mystery is my absolute favorite, especially when a game can be played through without seeing any H-scenes. Having only verbal and visual clues to imply the heroine has been cheating is great:
It's really powerful when is well done. Also what do you think is best?
a. When the heroine begin to give hints from the start (of the cheating).
b. When the player (not the MC) realize she is already cheating for a while (the MC begins to discover suspicious stuff when is already too late).

Dont ming fat/ ugly so long as they aren't sickening to look at (often they go to far)
I agree. fat/ugly is one of my favorite types... Not really ugly though, just not really attractive (by most people standart). But I've seeing (especially lately) that sometimes artists go overboard and I don't like it. People like the ones from Somerare, Sawamura Ai-san (26) no Kienai Genei or Saimin Seishidou are ok in my book (and in fact they are among my favorites).

Question 2: It Could had options of family members like mother, sister and maybe even daughter.
Since I didn't consider that in my story I didn't ask for it. But you are right, they should be added in the 2.0 version of the survey.

Question 4: Besides the physical appearance I think the most important thing about the antagonist is creating a moral contrast between him and the protagonist to create the feelings of jealousy, rage, injustice. For example, making the antagonist as inmoral and the protagonist as moral as possible. When both of them are nice guys or both are scum there is less emotional impact.
Agree with you. But I also think that this should be made with some moderation. I hate when the netori guy is too much of an asshole or a sex-robot without emotions. I think a good antagonist have to have clear goals and motivations (as any good character should). Sadly I don't see that too often and the antagonist turns to be your random generic netori guy without personality. I've noticed most writers/developers/artists focus only in the MC and the heroine, neglecting totally the netori guy. However I've also noticed that the ones that are considered among the best (Rascou, Venus, Ver9, ANIM in the past... etc.) focus into creating a solid and sometimes even interesting, netori guy. I think that's a staple of the best writers in the genre.

Sorry for such a long ass answer. I hope you find my comments at least a little bit interesting.

Per production costs, they recycle A LOT of assets which is how I was so easily able to put my own Marina assets together. They re-use 90% of same backgrounds except the main couples home interior and usually a new background for some place sex happens. Most of the music is also recycled, yes their are a few new images, music, ect but much of their background content is recycled. Which definitely lowers costs and speeds up development time, also it DOES allow for all the games to take place in the same universe which they've said as much and demonstrated.

I have twice (although I was also looking) and that was once for Marina 2 in a magazine and they did a lot of marketing Marina 3 and it sold REALLY well - I believe partially because of the exposure it got. I'm not trying to cheer Marina here, its literally just the only title I've seen them advertise in printed media.

Regardless I am surprised to hear people buy eroge games from amazon lol, I'm sort of serious but not...its definitely not my "go to eroge site" and they don't offer any exclusive stuff like telephone card prints. Even when I lived in japan I considered amazon only for hard to find out of print hentai products like artbooks.

Best of luck to you! Making a visual novel is really tough but it is always nice to see new creators pop up.

I like them for metrics, because their sales charts are public and reliable. Otherwise I also don't think they sell better than any dedicated shop, even if their delivery speed might be fast. Those reservation bonuses from eroge shops are beautiful.

What do I sacrifice?

So as a writer myself unless your selling your product to make a profit, focus on the story that GETS TO YOU. Or turns you on. Or interests you. Especially for a first game, because that motivation will drive you through the development phase. If your making a game for other people, then making polls is great because your using it as a metric for what your audience wants but again - who and why are you making this game for?

With Marina I've literally gone through 4 scripts, only one of which really catered to diverging paths for every type of NTR fan. For example in one I had her totally become a cheat and throw it back in Kenji's face (because he started her on this path) and even another path where Marina lets Kenji fuck other women in front of her - yes both worked but these felt so out of place in my general story as to deserve their own games - which brings my point around to this - even a short game takes time and if your not enjoying the story your crafting it around your going to lose interest or become distracted by a project that is more "you". So focus on the story you want to tell, be damned if it pisses other people off and do that. Especially for a first game.

If I wanted to write a story/game where Kenji and Marina join an S&M club - and that idea pisses off a bunch of people does it really matter if they are all getting it for free? I would say focus in one that story and develop it as best you can, so even if they don't like the themes when they play it they can still say it was a GOOD story for the theme. And that theme needs to be something YOU want to work on. Again unless your trying to sell it for money, but most early developers like myself are just trying to get something done.

As for diverging paths, do what I did. Write your main story, if you SEE a point where the story could allow other options simply NOTE it at that point and continue writing the main story line and "true ending" (or as you see it). I didn't do this the first time, but learned my lesson from it, that by focusing on that central story it allows you to go back and better develop those other paths once you have the basic story finished. If you develop each little path as you go, your story will sprawl and by the end ir won't have a clear path forward. Or at least thats what I learned.

Now for the ending - my suggestion for NTR is write it first or what you want that ending to be. IF you want the ending to be "wife is fucking neighbor and never tells husband, husband enjoys knowing that she does this and knowing that he knows she doesn't know he knows (LOL) then you have the basic plot to which you develop your story to its end. For NTR plots this really DOES help a lot.

Good luck!

Per the new new Atelier game I actually like the art design of the new wife and the CG itself isn't bad, if not bland - but I really hate the story of pushy bosses that fuck wives because it usually involves blackmail or the husband being a wimp which has never in my case is a turn off for NTR - but thats just me.

As for the Fantia Marina monthly series (which is not Marina 4 as many hoped) there will be a new part in may, I don't know how long they plan to continue the story arc but what is interesting is they said that its not official Marina canon, its an "IF" story. Thats apparently the appeal to Fantia in using it as a platform for their writers. However its certainly received a lot of attention and one can expect they probably will make a Marina 4 or related sequel at some point now - simple because renewed interest means sales.

Per the Marina Fantia story, I subscribed and got the extra story CG. So the basic plot is they hook up with the guy we voted for (so far just a face in the background with one line of dialog) and Marina asks if Kenji is ok (that) she is sleeping with other men again. He of course says yes and it finishes with her having a secret she wants to reveal. Which will be next month's artwork panels.

Now obviously that secret is that she either A has been cheating on him (probably with Hiroto and I think thats why Hiroto was in the poll) or has missed NTR play, despite her early protests and is glad to be doing it again. Both seem very likely, but overall the story is happening so fast it doesn't really feel like Marina or Kenji, you could literally replace her in the pictures for any girl and it would work.

I'm always happy for for new Marina artwork though and I do truly suspect this will lead to some sequel, but the IF story here is so bland...well we might just end up being disappointed if a real sequel appears too unless they make the story more interesting.

Personally I kind of want a sequel featuring their daughter as a teenager on her own NTR adventure with her boyfriend, maybe he finds videos of Marina online and hopes her daughter will do the same netorase play with him? Then have Kenji/Marinas story continued in the background.

I wonder how long Atelier Sakura can reuse that same hotel background for. I guess at least it means they have a lot of games to resell once they decide to remaster everything.

Actually surprised this isn't really a thing considering how art is the #1 selling point for visual novels. I'm sure some of Key's older monster eyed abominations would look great drawn by today's artists. Then again it's probably a good thing they aren't being touched again. The moment visual novel remasters begin, that would spell the official contraction of the visual novel industry in Japan. The same pushback from games studios is what stops every older console and pc title in the West from being remastered.

This.

Especially, remember that any poll only represent what the forum here thinks, I've seen the most crude shitty cuckold stories being acclaimed as amazing in F95 for example.
Makes me think ntr is like any other fetish in that way: you learn to taste what's truly good way after the initial discovery.

Which is I'm glad that people in this forum know what the true essence of NTR. I don't dislike them but to think that majority of them discussing heavily on NTR topic without mentioning any of top Japanese work is quite amusing to think .

New Atelier Sakura could have been good if it wasnt Atelier Sakura. The main idea isnt new but it makes sense. Seeing a glimpse of the wife with her hair down was good. But the overall execution is so bad, zero production values, so rushed it seems like the characters dont care about anything. The companys games sometimes have good moments still (淫らに堕ちる、最愛彼女 is interesting) but overall theyre such a disappointment.

BTW Venus updated again. Nao confirmed animation for hip sway and showed subtle eye animations too. He wanted to do animation for all the ejaculation too but had to give up since its very hard. Though he will still add them for the flowing liquid. 26/90(?) event CG painted now.
