Then I'm pretty sure you fall in love the game, just make sure that when you enter a battle/fight DO NOT kill the any of the monsters or characters (aka don't use the "FIGHT" option) unless you don't want the game to go to Genocide route, which means the boss fights are gonna be EXTREMELY hard to pass. If you don't fight any enemies and just "Mercy" or spare them, then you can stay on Pacifist route which is recommended to do first. But please note; You can't mercy the enemies unless the enemies are not displayed as YELLOW name. ONLY then you can spare them.

Yeah you can kill the NPC's as well as enemies but if you do that as your first playthrough, you're in a LOT of trouble and it's not recommended to play genocide route as your first playthrough. You would miss a lot that pacifist and normal route offers. People say that it's recommended to first play the Pacifist (aka sparing/mercying every monster and npc there is). On Genocide route you HAVE to kill EVERY SINGLE monster and NPC, even those who you might have form a motional bond to. That game is full of quirky, funny and awesome characters, I tell you what :D also a little hint, when you encounter the "Lesser Dog", keep petting him until his face goes under the game screen completely (the game will say something like "Really...?" when you've petted him enough). With that you can get some extra money. x3 when I did that, I got like 60G's :D
