Oh yes. Maybe the worker is essential to the company, and deserves special treatment. Maybe the worker has really "sucked up" to the boss and the boss falls for it. Or maybe the boss just happens to really that worker. Who knows?

Don't let it get to you. Do your job, do it well, and make sure the boss knows how well you do. Unless the boss is a total jerk, You should be noticed.

And if the boss IS a total jerk... well... watch the movie "9 to 5" and maybe you'll get some ideas.
