Do you finish all routes or only your favorites?

Before, I would only focus on the LIs that interest me. But now it's all routes! I usually leave my favorites for last, otherwise it's easy for me to lose the motivation to 100% them. My husband is also a completionist, and seeing his collection of 100% VNs turned me into a completionist too lol.

I used to complete all the routes. But after starting a new job, I don't have much time, so I only choose routes that interest me.

Before I used to complete all of the routes, bad endings included, but now realizing I'm not at the right headspace to actually complete it ;--; (btw shiraishi's bad end from collarXmalice was chef's kiss), I try my best to actually finish all of the route's normal and good endings to get the general feel for the game. I also made a small log/journal about my thoughts about the route to make me finish the actual route~

i finish the route of the character i liked first, and if i liked the game elements or the personality of others, i finish their routes too... that's why i'm not a big fan of blocked routes 😅

though i did finished some otome games using force skip because i wanted to get the cgs, it really depends!!

oh yes, blocked routes are definitely a torture

If I'm really interested in the game and plot, I complete all the routes, but if I'm not that interested, I just finish the routes of the characters I like and go back after some months to finish the rest.

I'm a big lore enjoyer, so I usually play every route even the BE, but if the character is annoying/insufferable I usually skips the dialogue a lot, except for the major lore info in their route hehe

personally i like finishing all the routes but i'll get all my favorite ones first before finishing the rest of them

Depends on the game and the characters. But what I do is I will replay my favorite character route again some time later because I juste loved it so much xD

I'm a completionist, but if a route is really hard to finish, I sometimes give myself a break. I like uncovering the full plot, so if the routes follow a specific order, I have to go through them. It's hard for me to skip one

It depends. If the story is great and has amazing world-building, I don't mind finishing all the routes, even if some of the LIs aren't my cup of tea. But if the lore is predictable or cliche, then I focus on my favorite LI instead

I /say/ I like to complete all of the routes, but in practice I usually play 1-2 routes then drop a game for a while before returning to it eventually (maybe even years later). Since I'm also a strict route order perfectionist this means I don't even get to play the routes I'm excited for sometimes wwww. Such is the way of my mind~ Ultimately though, I don't consider a game as "complete" unless I've seen all the routes/ endings/etc.

I just go straight for the character i like but if it is locked behind other route I just try to push through or skip it and get back to it later (like a year or two later 😣). But will eventually finish all route because I still want to finish all routes and see the whole picture of the story.

All routes when I was in school. Now with other things to do I will only pick routes I feel interested in.

I try to go through all the routes, especially if there is a secret route in the otome game. If I really dislike a character, I go through it without reading too much. But I don't go through all the endings because I don't like bad endings and try to go through only the good ones.

All the otome games I bought before—I've played through two or three routes, some I only finished one and then just left them sitting there... I keep thinking "I'll continue later," but I never actually open them again. And when I do, I just end up replaying the guy I already completed (so sad 😭).Unless I'm a fan of every single LI, I find it really hard to finish all the routes. I get way too emotionally invested—it's not that I'm lazy, it's that once I fall for one guy, it's genuinely difficult to go after the others. But finishing all the routes is the only way to experience the full game, right?I know having fun is what matters most when playing games. Still, I feel like I have some kind of emotional loyalty complex and it's really bothering me. It's gotten to the point where I'm afraid to buy more new games because I never finish them properly, and my gaming experience always feels incomplete. Is there any way to make myself complete all routes happily and without guilt? Help 😩

There are only a few games I completed because I tend to do the most interesting LI first and after that I lose interest in others 😅 but if there is some good mystery remaining or other LIs caught my ineterest in the meantime I'd try finish it.

It depends on the game. I used to only read the favorites, but now I try to read the whole thing if I like the lore. If I don't like the route, I skip it for the true ending.

I used to only read my favorites but otome games have been veering towards the galge path of "finish all these routes we've made mediocre on purpose to unlock the true ending/boy/girl that is significantly better than all other routes combined" so now I read everything. I will admit to skimming exceptionally boring & unpleasant scenes for characters I don't care about.

In the past, I was the former type but these days I'm more like the second.Maybe it's because I don't have much energy anymore.

I do all of the routes (if i can handle it.. which is usually a yes..) as I am really interested in the bigger picture when it comes to otoges. I'm scared i'll miss something out or it'll worsen the experience by skipping a route. So even if I hate the character, I usually just push through it as much as possible, whether it means I skim the text or only do a good end..

When I'm playing a new one, I usually make a mental list of more liked to less liked LI based on vibes and first impression that I normally get from the prologue, and the one I like the most is the one I start with, then the next one I liked the most, until I get to the end, mind you, the rating is subject to changes when I finish all the routes and their endings, but this system has always worked for me
(Except Bustafellows 2, I waited so long for that one and yet every time I open the game, I find myself on Shu's route again and again, baddie just won't let me go 😭)

I generally finish only my favorites because I'm very lazy to finish all routes but sometimes game forces me to finish all routes then unlock my fav T-T sometimes it's fun really but sometimes I feel sooo bored or lazy and that gives me pain :happytears: Idk if it's makes me bored because I get so excited to my LI's route ^^
