Im graduated...work full time fast food, spend my cash on games, anime and figures....thats my life.
Hmm :/ The first two years of college are just repeats of what i learned in high school with a little extra as far as im concerned... The latter years are more major based and everything~
For us there are limited spots (25 students max for most of them) If you dont get the class when you attempt the sign ups then you have to go around hoping theres room when you ask the teacher but budget cuts have made it so that theres enough students wanting the class to have a full class's worth wandering around looking for a class (which is why i cant get one) I might have to interview for certain classes but thats not till i choose a major

Idk but my uni lets me choose time slots too (as long as theyre available) I was shoved into the last group to choose classes (no fair) so i couldnt get all the classes i wanted

That depends how many classes you take but for me there are 15 min between classes if i fill out the schedule completely~ You can fill out the schedule as you wish (as long as you get the class) so i prefer to leave an hour gap between each class (in case i "forgot" to do hw)

I went to an art school (yay freedom) in SF (yay more freedom) so it was more free than what i see here in college :/ If you mean just plain freedom away from parents i still rely on them for everything and didnt really mind living at home... they have a base pile of classes you have to take no matter what but i guess i get to choose somewhat
At the rate im going its going to take a while to get out of here xD Not sure if its any better than high school was :/

Gets to watch the fog roll in and cover the city for 75% of the year and waiting for the next landslide to drag the house into the sea xD Or thats where my house is anyway. My dorm is further inland so nothing much to worry about~
