I played Fried Tomato's new game that came out today (
https://www.dlsite.com/maniax/work/=/product_id/RJ01064956.html). If any of you enjoy their games then I recommend this one. This is especially true for those of you who liked their other game, SUCCUMB (
https://www.dlsite.com/maniax/work/=/product_id/RJ322871.html). The plot and execution are pretty similar with the main difference being that the latest game is essentially SUCCUMB but in a fantasy world.
Plot is as follows. MC is officially the strongest swordsman in the kingdom, however he's constantly one-upped by his fiance who he's known from childhood. She's super strong and they're set to be married in a few months. However she postpones the marriage until the MC can properly defeat her in a one-on-one fight. MC takes on the challenge however if you lose against her and take too long to truly defeat her, she'll start to incentivize the MC to take his training more seriously through threatening to cuck him. It mostly starts off as light playing with other men and reporting it to the MC, however the longer it goes on, the more she gets into it and starts to realize that she actually likes to fuck other dudes. If this plot sounds familiar, this is literally the same plot of SUCCUMB, and I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I like the dev's take on the all-powerful heroine who wants the man who marries her to be able to beat her. I also like that the NTR routes of this game twists her desire to be defeated by the MC to instead a desire to be conquered by anyone, especially those who are weaker than her (which is still anyone). Its also a weird twist of NTR and netorase where it starts off with an unwilling netorase vibe, then escalates into NTR, then somehow swerves back into unwilling netorase and usually ends with the heroines dragging the MC's down to their levels.
All of that's not to say that the game is a complete soulless copy of SUCCUMB either. Its got its minor differences that either put it above SUCCUMB or bring it down a bit depending on your tastes. One upgrade is that this game has more endings than SUCCUMB with a bit more variety. Its got the basic marriage ending, its got a true ending, around 3 to 5 NTR endings, an ending where the MC gets with a side heroine, a happy netorase ending where the netorase continues but the MC is in charge and a bad netorase ending where the MC's lost all control of the heroine but their still together and finding their own enjoyment out of it. A downside is that the game lacks one key feature that SUCCUMB had which is that while you're going about your day trying to become stronger, you could see to the side of the screen what the heroine was doing during the day, afternoon and night times. The game had quite a lot of variety and it really added to the feeling of her falling. Actively seeing the heroine fuck around meanwhile the MC was training, shopping, sleeping, etc. really set the game apart in my eyes. The new game unfortunately has nothing similar to that and doesn't really try to make up for it.
One last gripe that may be a dealbreaker, not just for this game but for all of Fried Tomato's games is the over emphasis on gangbangs and different men. Most of their NTR games have the heroine jumping from one dude to the next which eventually accumulates in the endgame scenes nearly always being gangbangs. It gets pretty jarring a lot of the times because it takes the spotlight off of the dude who's meant to be cucking the heroines. You'll have a perfect NTR vibe going on where the heroine loves a guy purely for his dick or sexual skills and she gets to a point where she's embraced her masochistic desire. The guy's solution? Call in all of his friends so that he can sit back and watch them fuck her brains out and maybe join in from time to time. I wouldn't mind if it was just one dude who's NTR route was like this but its like that for nearly every NTR dude in all of Fried Tomato's NTR games. It also makes all of the endgame scenes feel samey since its just gangbang scene where the heroine admits she's become their meat toilet, then the next scene is the heroine getting gangbanged by another group of dudes where she becomes their sex slave, etc. It gets a bit tiring when this all plays out in one game so its a bit of a shame when nearly all of their games devolve into this. But that's just my own opinion since I favor one-on-one sex scenes.
And that's it. If you enjoyed SUCCUMB, you're pretty much going to like this game. If you hated SUCCUMB, avoid this game like the plague.
Also I lied about that one last gripe thing. My true last gripe is the presence of the MC in the plot (and yes this applies to SUCCUMB as well). The beginning of the game usually has the MC be more involved in the scenes since its NTR reporting, however in the later sex scenes the MC is kind of just missing. He's still talked about every once in a while but for the most part, he's just missing. I'm not saying the MC has to be in scenes where the heroine is off cheating somewhere else in the middle of the night, but the game doesn't really tie it back in to the NTR sometimes. Like the girl is still falling but it feels more like corruption at certain points in the game. There's no scenes like stealth fucking near the MC which is a real shame, especially since the opportunities are there, its just not the focus. Really wish I could articulate this point more but I'm not smart enough for that.
Overall I recommend it.
