I wish I could know japanese but I can't and that is the main problem here. There must be thousand of lines waiting to be translated and I can barely imagine the amount of time it takes to translate all of them, not to mention typsetting and a lot more tasks in this work.

Human-Servant relationship vs Vampire-Servant relationship hmmm. I prefer the second one because Erika is my favourite character but, without a doubt, the toughest relationship possible is the first one. I wouldn't be able to be a human aging while my partner never ages...I can't even think about that. At least the second one allows you being together forever and ever.

I haven't seen any important advance in months so Frank must be really busy, maybe he has postponed this project...at least in 2012 the eroge was advancing quite fast. Damn, I wish I could know japanese so I could help with it.

Once I open the game, it shows the credit August, and then jump straight to title screen. I am using windows 8 with the translation patch 0.7.1

There are two of them. One at the title screen. Just continue playing and you'll see the other one in-game. (IIRC, It'll play just before your first map choice.)
