I prefer having MCs with a proper design, but I'd take no MC in CGs over the faceless/eyeless ones.

i heard that cn girlies value selfinserting first and foremost (there was even some sort of drama in lovebrush chronicles regarding that), and they were pretty vocal about not liking how mc was voiced and shown too much, which is why we dont see or hear her nowadays:((Looking at you Love and Deepspace)
But honestly, I don't think making the protagonist super bland or barely developed really makes self-inserting any easier.i heard that cn girlies value selfinserting first and foremost (there was even some sort of drama in lovebrush chronicles regarding that), and they were pretty vocal about not liking how mc was voiced and shown too much, which is why we dont see or hear her nowadays:(
Agreed! so many old mobile otome games come to mind when i think of faceless MCI prefer MC to have eyes. faceless MC is just creepy and weird and it freaks me out!
I can never get used to it.
Apparently, I think it's an extreme self-insert thing. In otoges, the MC is often meant to be a blank vessel for the player, so making her too visually specific might break immersion and probably also highlight the love interests, making them stand out more ig?So do we have some good ideas as for why they use the grey, bald mannequin as the MC in otoges? I don't believe this is really all that common for visual novels in general; it's not something you would see in say a galge for example.
Exactly. They really hate it when the heroine has her own personality traits. They even drive away and insult players who see her as an independent character, and have come up with all kinds of derogatory names for those players and for the heroine herself.(づ-̩̩̩-̩̩̩_-̩̩̩-̩̩̩)づi heard that cn girlies value selfinserting first and foremost (there was even some sort of drama in lovebrush chronicles regarding that), and they were pretty vocal about not liking how mc was voiced and shown too much, which is why we dont see or hear her nowadays:(
They're so funny to me, I can't take it seriously when the MC doesn't have any features at all. Like i get that it might ruin the immersion but it just makes the CGs so strangeSo what do you think about faceless MC on CG? Do you like , dislike or don't care?
I never liked faceless MC without eyes.
But recently i saw many vn have grey , bald mc and some don't have even eyes, nose, lips .
It ruins the atmosphere for me. Looks scary and fun sometimes.
A romantic moment turns into a comedy. LI hugs and kiss mannequin .
