What do you think about faceless MC ?

Honestly doesn't really bother me, but what bothers me is having games where you can customize the look of your MC a bit only to have her not even show her face most of the time. (Looking at you Love and Deepspace)

(Looking at you Love and Deepspace)
i heard that cn girlies value selfinserting first and foremost (there was even some sort of drama in lovebrush chronicles regarding that), and they were pretty vocal about not liking how mc was voiced and shown too much, which is why we dont see or hear her nowadays:(

I don't like it. Art is such an important part of a game for me. I need to see reactions and a face otherwise it's just creepy ^^"

Not a fan, it reminds me too much of old mobile gacha games. I much prefer when she has a proper design that actually complements the rest of the cast visually.

But honestly, I don't think making the protagonist super bland or barely developed really makes self-inserting any easier.

i never cared much but when you pay attention to it, it is kinda weird and creepy. Like I understand why companies do it, so players can put themselves in the MCs shoes but personally I don't think that's good because I actually prefer my mc to have a face. I want to see her expressions

I prefer mc with face, I like cute girls. It would be even better if there was a small avatar of her lead next to the dialogue box.She looks especially cute when her expressions change with the conversation.

I reaaaallly do not like it, like at all. I get that some companies want to allow the viewer to self insert, but not giving MC a face aint gonna help with that. It throws me off so badly when there is a cute scene happening and all of a sudden it switches to a cg with just a very dark shadow over half her face/

I'm not a fan of protagonists who don't have eyes or other facial features drawn in.
If that's the case, I'd rather they just show the character from behind so you can't see their face.
Also, since I want to enjoy the heroine's cuteness, I'd prefer it if they were included.

So do we have some good ideas as for why they use the grey, bald mannequin as the MC in otoges? I don't believe this is really all that common for visual novels in general; it's not something you would see in say a galge for example.
Apparently, I think it's an extreme self-insert thing. In otoges, the MC is often meant to be a blank vessel for the player, so making her too visually specific might break immersion and probably also highlight the love interests, making them stand out more ig?

Exactly. They really hate it when the heroine has her own personality traits. They even drive away and insult players who see her as an independent character, and have come up with all kinds of derogatory names for those players and for the heroine herself.(づ-̩̩̩-̩̩̩_-̩̩̩-̩̩̩)づ

I prefer MC with beautiful design, i want the heroine is alive as character.

I prefer MC with a face and full design. When they are in illustration, it won't feel weird.

I don't mind a faceless MC with no eyes. An established MC can either be bland or have a personality type that I find hard to self-insert. We need more dialogue and body options.

So what do you think about faceless MC on CG? Do you like , dislike or don't care?
I never liked faceless MC without eyes.
But recently i saw many vn have grey , bald mc and some don't have even eyes, nose, lips .
It ruins the atmosphere for me. Looks scary and fun sometimes.
A romantic moment turns into a comedy. LI hugs and kiss mannequin .
They're so funny to me, I can't take it seriously when the MC doesn't have any features at all. Like i get that it might ruin the immersion but it just makes the CGs so strange

I personally prefer heroines with visible faces because it helps me feel more connected to the story and the characters. Seeing their expressions during emotional scenes makes the romance feel more alive to me.

Hmmmm, I don't mind either way. What I care the most is mc personality. Appearance (or, well.. face), I'm fine with faceless.

Personally, I prefer MCs with visible faces.
I feel like seeing the protagonist's expressions helps convey their emotions better, and it makes it easier for me to immerse myself in the story.
