What do you think about faceless MC ?

Faceless MCs are fine long as they're not completely *soul*less, haha. sure they can be a vessel for the player, but yeah, sometimes the MC is not supposed to be the focus of the story in a VN.

Most of the time it doesn't really matter to me. In some cases, the faceless MCs are pretty cute too, like the profile pictures of the secret relationship MC in the game.If they're drawn well in CG, they're okay, but most of the faceless MCs in games look kind of weird. If it ruins the aesthetics of the CG, that's really bad.

I don't really like it. In otome games, if the heroine doesn't have eyes in the CGs, especially if the CG shows her face or profile without eyes, I find it a bit unsettling. But if the CG is done in a way that doesn't feel too abrupt, I can barely accept it. The faceless heroine CG that left a strong impression on me was in the game Sypkiss. The art style is quite beautiful, but the heroine is missing her eyes, which pulls me out of the moment. I think it's a real shame.

Mystic Messenger has a faceless MC, but the game is just as good. It's just as beautiful and amazing.I don't see a problem with this MC. I read Otome for the sake of interesting men. This is the foundation of such games, and men are the priority. It doesn't really matter if MC is shown or not.

I feel the same. If the MC is going to be in the CG anyway, just give her a proper face. Faceless CGs always look kind of weird to me.I think immersion comes more from the writing than from hiding the MC's face.
The first faceless CG I saw was in Hatsukare (初彼).

But I'd love a flesh out MC,yes! hearing the monolog n thought process of main character do have a way of endearing me to them😋🩷💛🩷💛

I know that, generally speaking, faceless MCs are meant to make the player feel represented, imagining themselves in the protagonist's shoes, but personally I find it makes them seem disconnected from the other characters, especially in the CG scenes. For me, as long as they have a face—and even a voice—the better!

I usually prefer mc with face, they are really pretty. But instead of faceless, some otomes should add personalization options, i mean it's way better if you want to self insert and all.

I like pretty MCs! I want to see the MC's expression, and how they react to situations. I think a faceless MC, contrasted with a beautifully drawn LI, really pulls you out of the immersion... :lapi_broken:

Yeah! The main reason I started playing Cupid Parasite, for instance, is because of the MC. Not only she is pretty but rather different from others I've played. But I get the faceless MCs, just not my cup of tea.

I actually like Lynette's design the most out of everyone in Cupid Parasite! She's so beautiful :lapi_blush: I totally get you.
