great and dark story... i'd say this is the first time august make such a gloomy story like this! i really enjoy the story. but for just one flaw... there's not much intereference and appearance of other heroine in each chapter! and got a very saddening end

good story and good art! but in order to understand the whole story, you'll need to play the prequel first (Normal Route/Kaoru) and then play it fandisc (Anzu Route)! after that, then you enjoy playing this game

I have about a 100+ games on my backlog...which makes me wonder how people actually play eroge? Are they just super selective and only play a handful of games or do they just hold the fast forward button and not even read the story?
It takes me a good week to finish a game unless I'm just completely one characters storyline...

Well, guess I enter in the "super selective" area. Normally, I would only grab 1 o 2 games for month release (at rare times none). As for the others games in X month I usually wait for reviews decide whether to play them or not.
Assuming I'm not too busy with real life I can finish your average game (~20hrs) in ~10 days.

actually my friend... if you're played eroge or VN long enough, i don't think taking down all route of a game in 2 days will be hard! coz that's what i always did in weekends!
and NO! i don't hold CTRL buttons, i read all the stories! otherwise it'll be meaningless!
if i want to get a fap material, i could just read an eromanga instead of playing eroge! it's easier that way! nor i just hand myself a savedata from sagaoz!
How fast you can finish also depends on your ability to read (and your grasp of the language ofc). For me I have this weird habit (for better or worse) of seeing each dialog as a picture rather than text, so I "read" and understand the story in back of my head while I continue the game. So it literally only takes me a second or less before I press the enter key. I also do this for light novels where I read sentences as sentences rather than combination of words, which is the main reason why I usually finish them in a couple of bus rides. I actually take longer to read manga (due to their non structural layouts) than light novels which is why I rarely read manga lol.
Down side to this is that you get less feeling of accomplishment and appreciation when you finish. But when a VN is really good I usually give them one or two more runs to appreciate them more.
As far as VN goes, it is finish-able in around half a day. (not cited but based on my own experience, or if any, there are reviews in ergamescapelike this one that says how long they have finished Irotoridori no Sekai. See 参考プレイ時間)
I think the main conducer of completion time all boils down to your Japanese language proficiency and comprehension skill. Japanese natives obviously read faster than English natives who acquired Japanese as second language. The reverse is also true. Try reading a volume of light novel translated in baka-tsuki and see how long you can finish a volume. On the other hand, I was surfing the net for blogs about Japanese's KS' impression and I have read take a five seconds or so to actually understand a line (not counting the time they look up the dictionary for definition).
Anyways, on topic, I have a piles of games in my backlog as I recently resumed playing VN. I picked up these titles from erogamscape with scores of 75 above.
