The part that makes me stay away from VNs is how they often have more than one path. I don't want to go through a bunch of different routs, I just want one story. :P

Well, not all VNs are eroge, because there exist also a Allage-versions of VN, e.g.: Kira Kira-series, Clannad, Akane maniax and etc.
