There was also that Kato Ken guy in first episode who wanted to get stronger and it feels like a majority of the characters in the series want to get stronger to protect something dearest to them.

And onwards we go...

Sket Dance and Gintama crossover.

I found it pretty good. Each brought the humor and comical style that blended well with each other.

Not to mention how both manga-ka are also acquainted.
 
Haha... yeah~

The seiyuu jokes were part of the highlight.

Whenever I read the manga, the seiyuus' voices pop into my head at the same time. xD

Did the anime live up to the manga, respected the original series, or just plainly did very well?

For me, the anime was a success. :3

Like I mentioned earlier, I watched the anime first and then dived into the manga.

That is success if you're making people crave more or want to read the original series~
 
sure it did. the great voice acting brought every character's personality out very well~

lol, i like the part where hajimenii~ use his extra large beam saber to cut the bridge into half making kondou and kyuubei drop their chins, XD
