Anime Sharing - Netorare General Discussion Thread

What exactly is bss?

I figured it was pretty well known by now. 'BSS' is short for the Japanese phrase which essentially means 'Even though I liked her first'. It's a subgenre of NTR which revolves around those frustrating feelings of an unrequited or otherwise unfulfilled love for a heroine, usually because some other guy gets to her before the protagonist.

What is it about? I started following that dev in Ci-en since the art was great from what i can see.
Like I said, it's BSS. You play a regular soldier under the command of Lucrezia, a 'princess knight' who is widely adored by all for being both impossibly talented and beautiful. Obviously, you and all of your comrades are lusting hopelessly after her. The basic premise is that one day your lazy, womanizing general suddenly starts taking his duties with your squad seriously, after the very night you see Lucrezia attending his room late at night… You can see where that's going. You can peep on them at night through the door, as well as experience various delusions about them during training, things like that.
Of course, if you're familiar with NukoMajin then you already know his talent for creating his wonderfully overpowered, unbreakable and utterly stoic heroines. Whether that remains the case I could not say, but it certainly seems so.

Was the trial worth playing?
It's alright, although there's not a whole lot to it at the moment his art, as always, is delightful. I also enjoy the peeping elements. That said, I have a problem with the graphics disappearing after map transition so I can't speak as to the gamecycle much, but that's likely a problem on my end rather than the trial itself.

Atlas 14 for offline translation and mostly VNR for hooking/parsing, but Textractor (x64 vs. x86 distinction per title) and AGTH where exempted like Fujikino with given regex filter pattern.

Never got around to others like Sugoi so my tools haven't changed since last time.

Can you explain more about how you hook [Fujikino] Hitoribocchi no, Haiiro Koneko?

I have DeepL hooked up with Textractor, I can't find a good AGTH hook. Any hints?

I'm on the hunt for games where the heroine has sex with others, ideally without hardcore rape, and has good ending(s) since I'm pickier about NTR/bad endings and already have an insane backlog of those. My selection reflects this attempted criteria.

[Fujikino] Deriheru Yondara Onna Tomodachi Dattan da ga!? ~Arui wa, Haru o Uru Shoujo ni Tsuite~
Extremely short game with limited art where MC has an unrequited crush on his college friend and discovers she is a prostitute when ordering an escort to graduate as a man.

It explores this dynamic without degrading into NTR/netorase and is fairly wholesome. This is what one might call a "BSS" VN that excels at ambience.

Enforced downtime made me take to reading some VNs I've been postponing and Deriheru was one of them, I liked how it got really fetish heavy for a second and then ended in an optimistic tone (wouldnt call it wholesome exactly) so I'm looking forward to reading Haiiro as well. Other than that I've tried Natsukamike and Kaze no Tawamure. Havent properly finished them both yet but got to the good parts so I'll give some thoughts.

I liked the mystery aspect of the game a lot, the phone call caught me off guard (what? already? but who?!) because up until a point there could've been four different people behind the scenes trying to get her, but once the thunder clapped I instantly got everything and was on the edge of my seat for how things would escalate from there. Unfortunately, not the best use of hidden situations and the lie detection gimmick felt very underused to stimulate the mind of the readers once we were "let in" on the whole thing. Not a bad game by all means, but disappointing because of the wasted potential.
I think I understand why some people got mad at the girl and her motivations, my problem was more with the execution. I would be fine if things went the same direction but characters had more time to ponder implications and things got a little muddier overall, I feel like the author used a lot of convenient logic/excuses to instantly gloss over contradictions and unrealistic decisions/reactions from characters, such as:
0- getting into a physical relationship to help the family
1- her deciding to have full intercourse while still expecting for things to end up fine later
2- the father still being a good guy overall when he finds about everything, despite basically coercing her to keep seeing him
3- Haruna choosing pleasure while trying to keep her relationship with MC
4- the pregnancy scam

Honestly, I would've liked for the option of NOT going all the way until after the father found out and felt betrayed, then he would confront her and get his first real boner (an angry one) being then conflicted between taking advantage of the situation to take revenge, or making her his woman for the good she's done, and maybe have some redemption later (probably after a lot of discreet sex). Haruna would feel guilty for, while trying to help, being the catalyst for him considering divorce, and then creating the whole mess by deceiving him so feel obligated to go along.
It's my understanding that being bullied all the way to suicidal thoughts can impair a person's mental growth so I don't hold it against the character of Haruna for not thinking things through, but being a little more divided before taking some (very questionable) actions would make more sense for both her and hte father imo.

I've played Kaze no Tawamure up until the reveal and found it to be pretty good, while not necessarily a pretty good NTR game, you can tell it tries to be very efficient purposely falling into a lot of tropes to take as little time as possible to set everything up, and then making sure you get all of the standard situations. That, the MC being very passive given everything plus some mistakes in the script (the MC realizes the guy has his hands on the girl but doesn't think anything of it?) lead me to believe it was rushed, but it makes up for it with the amount of CGs in the scenes. It's one of those games where if the text says they are now doing something else the CG goes along with it. A shorter game that's worth playing imo.

Kegani laboratory game out any minute now. But it's got a 2400+ yen tag on fanza... Expensive for the dev. Hopefully that means lots of content.

Textractor x64 is all you need to hook, there is 1 option with the VN text intertwined with HTML & CSS mark up. Keep this.

Under Extensions, ensure RegEx Filter is first in the list, especially before Copy to Clipboard so text is cleaned up prior to translation.

In the RegEx Filter window enter an acceptable regular expression pattern and click Save to clean up most or all noise. Examples:
Code:
<[^>]+?>
<[^>]+?>|,sans-serif

Explanation:
* First removes all noise except occasional font-related word that is inline (not in HTML).
* Second enforces the first pattern, but also removes the string literal ,sans-serif.

You can improve upon the 2nd if it doesn't remove everything; I'm not intending to replay it, so I don't recall if there are cases where it isn't handled.
Use regex101.com or similar for help...or simply live with results, because it'll be a very occasional, ignorable word; 100% playable.

Thanks a lot. It was 3AM, I was horny, and I'm bad with regex even for work. It was a long shot, thanks for coming through.

Gave the Kegani Labatory game a try. https://www.dlsite.com/maniax/work/=/product_id/RJ400653.html

It feels like a better iteration of his old formula. There's less men for the FMCs to fuck, but makes up for it with deeper progression and variations on sex scene that simulates a FMCs corruption. The use of unique events in the form of puppets around the map is good. It makes the game feel alive. The game feels like an actual game. Also there's ENGLISH translation! Wow! Finally! It's not perfect English, but it's very much better than using MTL.

However, there's so many weaknesses inherent to the game design that I'm not going to persist the game in my hard drive or play it again.

a) You have to pretty much cuck yourself. The game is pretty easy once you figure out that you need to increase children production. There's some mental math you need to do to decide which "Raid" event to do to increase the Favor. FMCs basically won't get fucked by other dudes if you play properly. So when I realize that I pretty much won the game and the rest is just grind (I made the smaller girl my fiance and it was just 1-2 days from marriage ending), I just started losing on purpose to see the events. Turns out it's very hard to cuck yourself and took me a lot of skipping time.

b) There's no positive character development as usual. The only info you get is that these are your childhood friends, petite girl likes you, and busty girl likes to tease petite girl (she secretly crushes you, but only when you marry her after so many tedious "Chat" events with no dialog). NTR needs to be about destroying relationship and love. I don't root for the player and FMCs, since I have to purposely get them to marry me, then whore them out.

c) There's basically little to no love development between you and the FMCs. You have a pretty in-depth sex menu with Petite girl, but there's no character development. Women in these games feel like a sex doll rather than women with thoughts, feelings, aspirations, dreams (for you to defile, of course this is NTR). FMC's dont cry to you, asking you to hold them after being captured, raped, and train.

d) No permanent costumes (they're in h-history, but not while they're in town), no visible changes to the girls in town sex scenes even though they literally get branded with sexy things like nipple rings and lust marks. Breaks immersion. I want the girls to come back to me visibly broken, but they don't even feel alive since when they chat with me, the dialog is about the same.

At the end, great improvement from the old games. Clearly puts more effort than 95% of the products of there. But not "re-fappable"

Ok I think this is the latest swapping manga that caught my attention. The series also ongoing which ls also great.

Meanwhile in another ongoing manga, this author really build up the sex scene between the mom and her son. Already 4th chapter , no sex scene between them. Next chapter should be good.

Wasn't impressed with the kegani laboratory game. The animations for whether it's player/marriage partner/bandit/fat guy/prostitution are just reused and the game is far too easy on every difficulty but the hardest one which just forces you to start losing after a while. But wasn't expecting a whole lot from them- their games have been hit and miss. Now to try this https://www.dlsite.com/maniax/work/=/product_id/RJ417027.html - which just came out and picked up the rank #1 day trophy. This devs games have all been alright and interesting- but they sure switch artists around each time.

Not too long ago I thought about how cool a NTR game could be if it was based on a premise like this lol. Guess I'll have to try

EDIT:

Finished Haiiro Neko yesterday, didnt find the game very enticing even tho it had one of the things that I most enjoy, which is the girl describing what she was made to do to the protagonist, but bear in mind that I've been burning through a lot of games so fatigue might've been a reason. It has heartwarming endings despite the heavy themes which is a thing to appreciate about the developer imo

Also completed Natsugamike and even tho I got some things wrong I stand by the points I made earlier, and I've started playing plus content
She actually falls for the dad and wants to stay in a relationship with both but the ease with which a lot of decisions are made just to maintain a status quo made it somehow less fulfilling, a little bit of hesitation and then deliberate acting goes a long way. It also didnt sit well with me that in the ending the MC just takes it and we dont get to see his inner turmoil. Even tho it's very standard "scumbag runs over people" the scenes from plus have been working for me.

Have you played it yet? How is it?

Have you played it yet? How is it?

I have it, poked around with it so far. It potentially an excellent game. The only downside is there's A TON of images so you'd need OCR to capture the text to translate it. It seems to be a very complex game. I love the FMC so far. Dialog also on point. Premise is also excellent.

Have you played it yet? How is it?

Assuming you mean RJ417027, then I found that, much like the circle's other works, it's simply a disappointing waste of what is a great structure.
The premise is interesting; you and your lover are agents sent undercover to a mansion to find evidence of the noble's widely rumored misdeeds. Your lover, Azami, is highly skilled and has that cool sort of personality which is always nice to see fall. The eight side heroines are also a mixture of tropes and relatively interesting in their various ambitions; I especially liked Karin with her amusing antics. Also, somewhat remarkably, all the heroines are almost entirely voiced which is obviously impressive for this kind of work. The art, too, is very nice.
And now, the problems. The premise is good, the actual game system itself is, potentially, interesting. Except in reality it is terribly, terribly, terribly dull. The basic system is this: You need to raise affection with the other maids to get their events, their events will have you find clues as to the location of the three keys needed to clear the game, while maxing their affection will have them confess to you and then promptly NTR'd. You have only three actions per day and, at night, the antagonist will have his way with a chosen maid.
The issue with this is that there are no stakes whatsoever. You can choose to 'peek', 'interrupt' or 'ignore' the encounter at night as you like, except interrupting carries no penalty. There is no time limit to the game. The side heroines will not be NTR'd save for an abrupt scene once their affection is maxed. Indeed, the game will never actually end until you find all the keys. In other words, even halfway through the game you're simply clicking mindlessly to advance a maid's affection once per day to get the clues you need to advance. And while I appreciate the attempt at mystery with Azami's scenes if, like me, you choose not to peek, it doesn't really matter. There are no daily scenes regarding her corruption, her personality does not change in your morning interactions, and she's actually barely present in the story itself as she remains locked away during the day. What's more, the side heroines only have two scenes themselves to begin with. Their automatic fall into NTR and then another corrupted scene which is locked, for some reason, behind their first scene happening another five times(!). Something which itself is reliant on the antagonist's random choice of maid each morning, unless you make use of the nun outside.
The actual evidence-search gameplay is also dreadfully dull, too. One can find the green key entirely by chance on the first day, while other clues are hidden randomly behind different events you have no way of guessing at. And even with all the clues I couldn't find the trick to getting the blue key either.
In the end, the premise is great. The system itself has potential and I do, personally, enjoy being able to lose an entire collection of heroines to a single opponent. But the game is just far too much of an unrewarding slog. In my opinion, save yourself some time and money and skip it. If nothing else, you can unlock the full gallery in the recollection screen by pressing Up five times, Down five times then Enter.

This is very eloquently put. My problem, 2 hours in, is "why am I forced to do events for x heroine?". I simply don't care about some of them. In my opinion, they should've made it so a) time is more of the essence. b) Azami is actually intractable and has progression to her being touched (or have a love meter too, so you actually feel like you're dating her with 3 choices to choose from) c) cut out heroines. There's 3 keys, make it 2 clues each. 6 heroine. You have to pick and choose which one to befriend.

I actually laughed out loud when the one girl i picked to advance and max got NTRed right away. Really good idea, but stupid execution. This circle is both really smart, and really dumb with its game-play decisions. I wish more companies iterate on this formula though.

I also played RJ417027 the premise and art are really good but something is missing like fmc ending up being whored out on the vip brothel by the baron or something else of this kind, maybe some tought of the mc when he is peeking . And just like MerrilMan
I don't know where the blue key is even after collecting all the clues ..... there is a rooom in front of the manor with some kind of old key but I can't open it and the rest of the clues are about a white tiger/digi code but probably sometinh behind that door so I'm stuck there .....

Thanks for explaining all these game. Playing with a translation software these mediocre artificial NTR rpgs games must be a pain in the ass. I'm a fan of NTR with detective type hero/heroine it just enables the mystery easily but can hardly find quality games using that plot device well enough.

Not all necessarily NTR related but anyone here have a good game recommendation for corruption of arrogant/strict boss type like :

Tsuma no Haha ~Gouman Onna Shachou to Doukyo no Hibi~
Buka Ore x Onna Joushi/Kashidashi Play
Kouman Tsuma Kanraku!!!
Nureru Kotou ( I love this, heroine develop stockholm syndrome-ish in the end was really good )

This is probably my new fetishes lol

You can try the arrogant heroine and corruption/NTR tag on VNDB to narrow your selection. You can also filter it by office heroine.

This game is not THAT bad. You have a point ofc, but still it is above garbage.
Anyway, 780MB optimized 1.01 version is already being translated...
I have some questions:
1. I selected for girls that I love them and girls were whored by baron. What will happen if i chose otherwise? Girl has love letter icon only and that's all? EDIT: It will be whored anyway, just another way.
2. Can MC band somehow first maid? EDIT: no, only sexual encounter MC has is in bordello.
3. Whored girls have heart icon with number 5 going down each sex with Baron. What does it mean? EDIT: probably "total fall" and 2nd of 2 scene.
4. What is purpose of "nomination"?
