I delete everything I finish. I already have a bajillion other games in my backlog that I keep downloaded/in .zip folders for convenience, which leaves me with very little storage space at all times.
Sadly, I get bored fast and often jump games ;-; so I take forever to finish anything ;-;
I'm fine w/ non-blood related LIs!! But as someone who has a sibling, I feel eughh actively choosing to play a blood-related LI's route in otome games. I don't self-insert but bc there's always some degree of player autonomy and focus, it makes me feel like I'M engaging in incest LMFAOOOOOOO...
It pains me.... SO much....
There's always at least one side character I see from trailers/VNDB that catches my attention more than some of the LIs.
I haven't gotten to playing new LI routes in otome fandisks so I'm not sure how they compare, but at least in BL fandisks they always feel like...
It bothers me when two different choices are presented, but both of them lead to the exact same outcome except for one or two different lines of text.
Like, some characters are about to fight and you can choose to intervene or not. It doesn't matter either way tho cuz MC won't intervene no...
OVER REQUIEMZ 1000000000000000000%
There have of course been yandere characters and intense routes before but THIS is like Yandere™ the Game (lol)
When I saw some of the CGs I was SHOOK bc even the darker otome games I've played in the past have really tame ones
I generally just play blind since at least for otome games it's pretty obvious which choices lead to what route/ending
If I get stuck getting the same ones (i.e. the game wants ALL the right choices to be picked but I diverged from one/two of them), I'll look up walkthroughs
Yeah in Japanese settings I prefer all honorifics to be retained, even a Lord/Sir for historical settings would suffice; if a game is neither, I want an equivalent to be used instead of just removing honorifics completely
I think what bothers me the most is when the way someone addresses others...
ADELTA characters r so good so of course I also have to mention Tamamori and Oosaki!!
Also, Azuma from Paradise (the difference between how he presents himself vs. his actual inner world/thoughts) and Hisora from Nie no Machi (overall just very cute and loveable <3)
Some of these were already mentioned, here's mine anyway!
Amnesia anime's Zoetrope by yanaginagi
Bad Apple Wars' Mirror, Mirror by nano
Code:Realize's floatable by mao
Arcana Famiglia's Stellina by Harada Hitomi
...and also the anime's Magenta Another Sky by Harada Hitomi
I've seen Bad Ends where the MC eventually turns yandere or "to the dark side", though never one where she was that from the get-go. TBH I'd love to play a game like that!
Still have never gotten past the prologue of my first otome game (it's Hakuoki LMAO)
I'm pretty sure the first route I ever finished was Kyousuke's from Storm Lover Kai
Rokuro from Sympathy Kiss...
I have a thing for the blond, usually blue-eyed prince type of character. Also saw online that his route was the most kdrama-like so I was excited. Imagine how disappointed I was playing it bc the MC who is proactive in other routes does absolutely nothing else but...
Broadly, tsunderes, yanderes, mature guys, etc.
But I think what I like most is when LIs are well-written and are more than their "assigned archetype". Deconstructions, characters who seem one way but are actually another, things like that
I'm sorry but I HATE gacha otome omg,,,,
Otome games should only have like 1-2 paywalls max (buying game itself and MAYBE DLC), and you should be given all the content after that.
The only smartphone otome game that did it right was Mystic Messenger and I'll stand by that belief till the end...
I think I still like the archetypes I used to before? But now that I'm an adult, I have a harder time tolerating the archetypes I'm not really into
Back then, I could still maintain interest in LIs even though I wasn't really into genki, shota/boyish looks, uncommunicative/emotional...
I keep it on cuz I like knowing when I've made the right choice LOL but only in a "Wow! So he liked that!" side-thought way (does that make sense?)
I play blind and make choices based on my own feelings so I kind of just disregard Love Catch (outside of the serotonin boost it gives me) unless...
Koharu's from 9RIP! This probably isn't a popular take lol but he was the first route I played and even though it was more slice-of-life than horror, I still enjoyed it
Loved:
-Focus was on Misa as a character and her problems!
-No unnecessary or drawn-out drama (thank god for communication)...
Also not a self-inserter, I prefer MCs to have their own identity and personality
I'm not too picky tho so I like all kinds of MCs as long as they're their own person
