Yandere older brother routes are not uncommon in otome, but I'm quite curious about how others feel about them. Do you enjoy brother routes? Or maybe you only like them when the characters are not blood-related?
I'm into the big brother routes myself. I think brother-sister pairings are quite interesting from a narrative perspective, especially in darker settings!

Black Wolves Saga, Tiny x Machinegun and LoveRevo have some of my favorite older brothers in otoge. Do you have any favorites? :)

i love incest (in fiction). give me all of it. brotherfucking, fatherfucking, sonfucking, sisterfucking (this is not usually otome but just to empathize my point), ill gobble it all up!!!!
im a huge fan of questionable/taboo topics in fiction overall, but incest is on a whole other level. the bond between a sister and her brother is something so deep and personal, the stories that come out of it are just so very intimate and cool......!!!!
and this is the exact reason i dont like the "step" trope, because if theres no relation by blood, whats even the point? both will get you "cancelled" by angry mobs, so why not just go all the way instead of tiptoeing around the "yucky" topics? although i do acknowledge that there are some spicy ass storylines you can find in the "step"fiction!
obviously, this is just my personal opinion. as long as no one gets harassed for their likes and dislikes, i believe we can all live in peace...!

Not only do I like them…but I loveeeee them 🥴😂

Technically I've always been more of a neesan type girl and preferred younger brothers, but they are soooo rare. I rly love the one in Taiyo no Hikari, Tsuki no Kage (R18). I also loveeee Fuuto from BroCon.

After playing a lot of Otome games I've grown into now a full blown brocon and enjoy oniichans too. My all time favorite is Wabisuke from Gekka Ryouran Romance.

Anyways, I live and breathe for brother type characters.

Drama is my absolute favorite genre, the more toxic, problematic, and taboo-fllled, the more alluring and hooking it is. So when asked what my thoughts are on incest routes in otome are I'll go "HELL YEAH let's see badly these characters yearn for each other". The premise already has me hooked, so as long as it's well written and doesn't feel out of nowhere(well I literally say this for any other route), I'm down. Bonus points if they're actually blood-related and not the "turns out we're not even related" or the "we were just raised together" troupe, I respect when an author goes all in on a concept that has a niche audience and will not be accepted by a lot of people. Fiction is fiction, no one is getting hurt.
From what I played, I really enjoyed Mizuhito's route in Choudoku and secret LI in 7'Scarlet. Honorable yandere mention for Shiki in Period Cube, any mention of him onscreen was really entertaining.

I feel the need to write another disclaimer What I condone in fiction does not apply to my real life principles, fiction is fiction.

Haha, I feel the same way! I got into gothic fiction in my teens, and since then, I've been into fictional depictions of incest 🫣 I think the only one I don't like much is aunt/uncle stuff, mostly because it's boring, lol
Same thing with step-sibling stuff. People who dislike incest probably don't really care whether is blood related or not, so just go all out on it!!

Younger brothers are nice too! Specially when they look up to their older sister. Wabisuke is an amazing example! His route was my favorite in Gekka Ryouran as well

They were my favorite LIs in their respective games, specially 7scarlet! I was not too into the game at first, but his route kinda saved it for me. Period Cube was also amazing, he really got into the desperation that I like in those sort of routes!

Mizuhito is my favorite route in chou no doku due to them being sister and brother by societal standards and such. It's such an interesting unfurling of story to see the pair of them navigate it even when they know they aren't related, but the whole world thinks they are. Then deciding to ignore the world and actually try and have a child together in the FD is also chef kiss.

They're my favorite taboo trope (Sorry not sorry 🫣). It's just fiction after all.
Give me all the onii-sama / aniue routes.

I love Mizuhito and [Redacted] from Chou no Doku, Yoritomo from Birushana, [Redacted] from PersonA Opera Za no Kaijin.
Other notable mentions: Aldrut from Ai no Uta and [Redacted] from Furue Yurayura to

If anyone has any other recommendations, please share 👀

Fellow Mizuhito lover :alice_glitter:
Although I like Majima more, I enjoy both different dynamics of the brother-sister relationships the game had. Somehow, Mizuhito-Yuriko's relationship felt more taboo than the one with her actual brother. Probably because they were raised as siblings and she kept calling him onii-sama til the very end. 🫢

I really enjoy routes with siblings, I'm guilty of that. When I have the chance, I always tend to do them first. I like the whole context when it happens, the drama and the whole story behind it, even if they're not blood-related, I tend to like it more than I should. I've consumed and read quite a few works on the subject, so yeah, I really tend to enjoy it a lot when I have the time, I don't see a problem with that. Chou no Doku Hana no Kusari is the Mizuhito route, and it was one of the first I finished when I played, and it's very good. I still have to go back and do the rest of the routes since I lost my save file.
:akazukin_blush:

I LOVE Onii-san routes. Of course I prefer blood-related over step-bros, but in general I find forbidden taboos appetizing in fiction. Especially when onii-chan is over protective or is a siscon. I also don't mind blood related cousins~

Younger? Older? I don't really have a preference, but being called onee-san gives me all the doki dokis.

I've only played one, it was the one in Taisho X Alice. I went in blind, so when I found out I was like, oh :S But I played through it to keep an open mind, and it was just too weird for me throughout. Like, I can identify parts of the story that were good, but I think the incest brought the route too far down for me. So I don't think I can say that I'm a fan and I'll be skipping any routes like this in the future.

Wait, I can't believe I forgot about this one. There's another Genpei War otome where the MC dressed up as Yoshitsune (Basically Birushana, but it's R18 👀)

Hoshi no Oujo ~Uchuu Ishiki ni Mezameta Yoshitsune~

The MC is actually Yoshitune's twin sister pretending to be him. The LI lineup is quite similiar: Yoritomo, Benkei, a childhood friend (lite Shungen), the Satou brothers.

The big difference is that in this game, Yoritomo is her actual half-blood brother, and he can be very mean.
In one of his BEs, he NTR Shanao in front of Benkei and her childhood friend... 🥹

There's also a short secret route for the real Yoshitsune (her twin brother)

I know they're fiction, but I have too many siblings to enjoy brother routes :ROFLMAO: I'm fine with the adoptive brother troupe though

As long as they're not blood related, I really enjoy them! Bonus points if they're the mature type who end up being yanderes or just straight up derranged. I have older brothers in real life, I'd feel weird playing a brother route where they're actually related, even if its just a fictional story lol. I physically cringe at even just the idea of it...

Haruma from Blackish House was one of my favorite brother routes, for example.
