yeah most of the time that's a turn off for me too. i don't mind a bit of rivalry, but in the end (mostly) competing character will behave in irritating way
i don't really mind this trope myself and i'm not actively trying to find it in fiction. it just.. happens that i start getting into some characters and later it turns out they're somehow related to each other lol.
after all, if it's fiction and served well, i will read it and probably like it.
i really appreciate when vns have the feature to change the volume or turn off all sorts of background sounds completely!
also, i wish more games had the feature of saving separate voice lines for all characters. i wanna be able to go to the menu and listen again to a line a character said...
even if i don't like the visuals in the game i will give it a try, especially if the synopsis grab my attention. in the end i might grow to love the art style (i'm all about good plot and characters)
i think if the writing is good, i will eat it and remember the story for a long time. there is something special about tragedy and being doomed to lose someone.
it feels terrible in the end, but i love me some angst
i feel for you. it reminds me how i suffered the same way two times with blvns from holicworks. now it stops me because i really want to reread my favorite character's route but it's the last one... and the game progress is a lost data.
eternal suffering with taishou mebiusline and tokyo...
i've played lesson back when it came out and i think it's one of the best bl visual novels of the past few years. if anyone played it what's your thoughts about it? do you think it's one of the best or worst parade works?
towa is one of the best written main characters for n+c, so him. and konoe, he was fighting against cruel world by himself and survived very harsh conditions, and still ended up as a good cat.
as much as i love my man daiba, i can't say his route is my favorite in case of writing. i was waiting for ooe release a long time too (i think since it was announced in 2021?), so i was really excited when it finally came out.
for me personally, ooe has problems with details and development of...
i use guides if there's one because i don't want to waste my time on basic and repeating bad endings without cg. (͡°³͡°) also i'm like the others like to 100% vns, if i go blind from the beginning i might get lost.
i think my very first was pokemon, i watched it on the tv when i was a kid. i remember the second one was ghost in the shell and it was too strange and scary for a lil me lol
i find it a little bit annoying but for me everything depends on how good story or game itself. i think i will notice this more if vn is not that great. sometimes games need a bunch of useless choices for few new lines xd
usually i'm so fixated on one vn that i can't think of playing something else. until i read my fav routes or play full vn ofc, only after that i can switch my focus.
