But there is the lake, what USA with Canada shares - And this counts also as naturally border to Canada. Where then you're close there...xD

Yeah, but the Lake Michicagn is though with the other lakes more or less connected with each other - And there are (if my memory still properly serves) about 3~4 other lakes...

1000 miles...? Hmm, heavy to imagine that, because in my calculation are this about 1600 km - You'd be then somewhere in the middle of USA from Canada's border(s)... Though through the lake would you a short cut make toward Canada...xD
