Yeah looks like for now we won't be notified about new notifications, we just have to search out profile manually for mentions, VM's, or quotes for the time being, and I'm guessing we also have to check our PM's manually also since I don't think we will be notified about those either

rumor has it that there is still a house with a number in red, when there is a notification. guess that is just a rumor. I have to go to my profile check, whether i have mentions or quotes.
 
Yep. the notification bar is still being repaired. I've seen it, and It looks good.

there are several buttons, and red notification, like in Facebook
 
cant see new mentions and quotes on my profile page either. guess i will have to wait for now. :goodtea: like the new badges btw.

That's because it's only showed for maybe 1 or 2 hours since the reopening of ASF, until checku-sama realizes that it is the cause of the slowdown
