btw, to say "he is pretty pretty" when I want to mean "he is so cute" is weird?

"Pretty pretty" is always kind of odd. People use it (rarely), but the same word twice in a row always sounds strange. There are also times where it is hard not to use things like two "that"s in a row. You might want to change one so that it is "pretty cute", "pretty good-looking", "rather pretty" or "quite pretty". Something like that.

If you use it though people will know what you mean. :)
