Dungeon Crawling type:
Class of Heroes. its kinda slow paced maybe, but anime style and fun once your characters arent so weak. Japanese style dungeon crawler.

Cladun and Cladun x2. awesome american style dungeon crawler with real time combat/exploration. Definitely worth looking into.

Traditional RPG: Valkyrie Profile Lenneth. a remake of a ps1 game that was based on some norse mythology...very good game but requires patience.
 
For games in English, I can recommend Fate/EXTRA. Type-MOON fans should definitely check it out. It puts a new, unique spin on the Holy Grail War and it's a lot deeper than I first expected it to be.

Not gonna recommend any VNs on the PSP since my list would be very long lol.
 
How about the Metal Gear ones ? They are pretty great. Peacewalker did so good that they made that HD remake in
consoles.

Valkyria Chronicles 2 is super fun to play as well, i recommend it. The psp has a large library with a lot of excellent games. It would be better if you asked for a specific genre instead.
 
Hmm..well, every game mentioned here was fantastic. (Corpse Party, BBS, and the Disgaea`s being my favorites.)
The only ones I can think to add are Mega Man: Powered Up, all of the GTA games, Phantom Brave which is quite overlooked, and last would be Higurashi Daybreak. Surprisingly fun and lighthearted, though it`s only in japanese.
 
If you like side-scrolling/platformer: the Prinny series
it's pretty hard, but figuring out how to beat the bosses quite worth it

Danganronpa 1 and 2
The legend of heroes series, especially the Sora no Kiseki trilogy. Unfortunately only the first game in SnK trilogy is available in English (it's called Legen of Heroes: Trails in the Sky.)
Senritsu no Stratus looks pretty cool.
Time Travelers looks like an interesting adventure game.
Tsugi no Diseisha wo Shimasu another interesting adventure series.
