I extracted the patch into the game root directory but now the game won't start at all. I tested without the patch file (update2.ypf) and then it runs normally again. Also reinstalled the game and tried on both ver1.0 and 1.01 but still the same result.

Any idea or help would be appreciated!

Hey, make sure the patch file is inside the pac folder, and if your system locale isn't Japanese, try via Locale Emulator.

Yep, like you said, the patch file was already in the pac folder and the pc's system locale is Japanese. The game runs normally without the patch but once the patch file is there, the game does not start up. Specifically, it doesn't respond at all and there are no error message. I don't see the game running on the background either when checking task manager.

What OS do you have? I'm looking to reproduce this but I test it on both Windows 10 / Windows 11 Japanese locale, both launch fine.

For the main game, where did you download it?

ryugames, but it has propaganda

h suki is less agressive, but it does not have the game yet

one more thing of h suki site, certain games are blocked and you need membership to unlock that content, but its guaranteed

Windows 10 Japanese Locale. I got the main game from here (girlcelly) via nyaa.

Again, I uninstalled, did a fresh reinstall, and booted the game successfully without patch first.

Once I applied the patch (extracted in game directory / made sure file was in pac folder), I observed that the game doesn't boot up at all whenever the update2.ypf file is present. When I remove update2.ypf file, game boots and runs normally.

Possibly DL Version, I'm pulling the DVD version to check it out, do you know which version you downloaded?

That solved it! Didn't realize there were different versions. I got the DL version and is working now. I was on the DVD version previously. Will make sure to double check versions for the future.
