What do you value more in otome: the plot or the romance?

Between the two, definitely the plot. The romance doesn't mean much if I'm bored out of my mind lol

Plot comes first for me. It's where most of the worldbuilding happens, especially in the main storyline. If it's thin and boring, I might lose interest and not want to get to konw the LIs anymore. I'll just drop the game.

I go for romance, usually the genres of otome, the prot goes to second hand and for me that is fine if, for example, a game has a bad plot but good romances, I can fake dementia with the story, but if the romance is horrible and the plot is good, I don't care about finishing

I think both matter to me. I don't like romance being the center of everything. With a good plot, the LIs feel like they come alive in that world and you can actually experience the world with them.

Honestly, I lean towards romance.. but without a good plot the story becomes boring or disappointing

Story,I value story. Having romance elements is a plus, but it's fine if there isn't any. I care more about the game's own story and writing.

But since they're otome games, romance elements are definitely going to be there. If the story is too boring, I'll get sleepy reading it.
