What do you think about faceless MC ?

Unless they have some sort of characterization going for them, I usually don't prefer them. The ones I'm somewhat okay with are the "eye-less" ones; the expressionless and the ones with literally nothing on their face, sorry, but no thanks.
 
I also find faceless protagonists unsettling; they look like mannequins to me. The developers might want players to envision the protagonist however they like, but if that's the case, I wish the story had been told exclusively from the protagonist's point of view from the start.

I don't really like faceless protagonists. I get what they are trying to do, but seeing the featureless, hairless mannequin in CGs is really ugly. In that case, if you really want to be inclusive, I'd rather not have MC in CGs at all, rather than that. The eyeless MCs with bangs that cover the face are a bit better, because in CGs the angle usually hides a bit the fact they don't have faces, but in general I would rather have a fully drawn heroine. Best case for me is having character customization - like in Ebon Light or Gilded Shadows, though I get why it's rare, it's a lot of work for the devs.
 
I prefer when the Mc has hair and a face. Most of the Otomes I've played where the Mc is faceless, they usually don't have good writing or much of a personality. I understand there's people that use self-inserts and such but for me it makes such a boring game.
 
It depends. If it's just no eyes I don't care. To some extent I prefer it too (although I also don't mind when they're given a face). If it's completely faceless then I don't like it as much

I actually don't quite get the disdain towards them, I mean it's nice to have an actual design and personality for the heroine (Cardia my beloved), but it's not a deal breaker for me personally
 
Personally, I prefer MCs with a face and visible facial expressions. I also tend to prefer protagonists that have a name, a voice, and a well-defined personality, since it's much easier for me to get immersed in their story, empathize with them, and enjoy the journey alongside them. ^-^

Personally, I don't like it very much, especially if they don't have hair.. although MC's with hair covering their eyes are more acceptable to me. I would play the games normally, but I feel like it breaks the mood and makes the CG look kinda off for me. I like protagonists with a well-defined appearance and personality..
 
Sympathy Kiss was a disappointment due to this!!! Faceless MC is not nice to me at all! (X-files/E.T. made a romance game?! LOL) MC talks...has personality...it makes sense to have face...? IMHO~ (＾▽＾)
 
honestly.. i don't really mind about that ;-; but well wouldn't it be better if the mc had a proper character model instead of being faceless?

I never liked faceless MC without eyes.
But recently i saw many vn have grey , bald mc and some don't have even eyes,nose,lips .
It ruins the atmosphere for me. Looks scary and fun sometimes.

I actually don't really mind but if I had to choose I prefer that the MC at least have hairs, cus if they're just like, bald, yeah it feels like a mannequin😭
 
I don't consider the fact that the MC has no face to be a drawback.
In the games I've played, whenever there was physical contact, only catch a glimpse of the characters from behind or the side, so it didn't feel unnatural to me.

I don't like faceless MC 😅 I want to see her face, her emotions, her outfits! It feels weird when everyone talks to air. I prefer MC with design!
 
It ruined the mood, when everything in that game just so bling being sunshine rainbow then BOOM*, a mannequin slapped into my vision, it's just out of nowhere like it don't belongs there
 
I'm not a big fan of faceless MCs. I prefer heroines with a proper character design and visible facial expressions, because I like being able to see their emotions. Personally, I find it easier to enjoy the story when I can see how the heroine feels and how she reacts to different situations.

For me, it actually depends on the platform! For console or PlayStation games, I definitely prefer the MC to have a fully drawn face because it enhances the story and atmosphere. But for mobile games, I actually prefer a faceless MC since it makes self-inserting a lot easier!

Though I total agree with you—when the CG looks like the love interest is hugging a blank mannequin, it really turns romance into comedy! 😂
 
for me the whole point of self inserting is the mutual chemistry. i want to see the blush and the eye contact in the CGs so i can actually feel the butterflies!! when she doesn't have a face it honestly just feels like the LI is having a romantic moment with a mannequin instead of me :lapi_annoyed:

I like faceless mc's cause then it's easier to self insert 😅. But the best faceless mc's are those where you at most see just the back of the head because some of those eyeless mc's make me feel uncomfortable
