What are your opinions about AI generated otome voice/games

Honestly, I'm pretty skeptical about it. For otome games and drama CDs, the emotional depth and voice acting are literally everything. AI just can't replicate those subtle nuances, breath control, and raw passion that real voice actors pour into their roles. Without real actors, it just feels soulless. 😅

I have the same thoughts as you but using AI is cheaper than other alternatives like poor VAs or low qaulity SEs.
I'm just watching the market to see if others prefer it and whether tje market will keep growing.

Straight up no. Sadly, the moment I see genai I would literally drop the game. It feels so cliché listening on the generated ai voice as well. I'd rather support an indie game without va on it.

Personally I'm not a fan of AI generated otome games. I prefer the warmth and emotion of a real human voice actor. It just touches my heart more! 🥺

Are AI-generated voices already being used in otome games, too? I've seen AI-generated illustrations being used on game covers, probably as a way to cut costs, but I find AI-generated voices even more disturbing than AI-generated art.

It's pretty obvious that these AI voices are trained on real people's voices, which raises serious concerns about violations of their rights. The thought of someone's voice being used to make them say things they never agreed to say is honestly horrifying. I'm against it for that reason. Even if the AI is trained on impressions or imitations of someone's voice, I'd still feel uncomfortable with it.

Personally, I'm not a big fan. While I don't mind using AI as an aid during the creative process, the idea of having AI create everything holds little appeal for me.

I'm anti AI so there is no reason for me to support people who couldn't bother putting in hard work. Most of those AI people just want a quick buck, so it's better if we save our money for actually good/qualitative stuff and good people who genuinly want to create storys/illustrations/games etc.

I have mixed feelings about it tbh. I think AI could be useful for small indie developers who don't have the budget to hire voice actors or artists, but I personally prefer human-made otome games.

Especially when it comes to voice acting, I feel like the little changes in tone, emotions, and delivery are what make certain characters so memorable. I don't think AI can fully replicate that charm.

I'm also not a fan of AI voices being trained on real voice actors without their consent.
