What are your opinions about AI generated otome voice/games

If I see or hear AI at all while looking at the marketing of a game I'm no longer interested. I'd rather someone use amateur art or little to none (such as Interactive Fiction) than using AI art. There's no excuse for AI music either as there are so many tracks available to choose from. Like others have said, it is such a deterrent and reads as low-effort.

An indie demo I was interested in came back years later now with AI usage for voice acting...
I was actually interested in buying it when it released (and really, all these years just to add AI voice files to the game and no new story content?!)!!!!

AI is already a contemporary trend and cannot be avoided, but I only accept CDs of fan works and use AI to generate covers. A small fan community that is not yet famous, it costs a lot of money just to hire a voice actor to dub, not to mention the painter, a cover picture also costs money.

AI is only used by me for simple and quick search. I won't believe everything. It has been missed.

If the works are all created by AI, I don't have much interest. I like stories written slowly by human resources.

Let's be honest, apart from stealing work and being an environmental disaster, AI sucks, it has no soul, no emotion, it just mimics.
Sadly AI is very important right now, big companies use it to earn more money. And Japan..., well I moved out from Japan a year ago, and even last year AI was everywhere. Compared to other countries, I think Japan have the biggest user base.
I never came across AI otome cd thankfully but AI "art" is everywhere. Let's just hope that the AI bubble pops sooner rather than later, because Japan will never stop using it if it's available... :angvoodoo:

A huge NO. The more AI-generated art becomes normalized, the more it's obviously going to hurt actual artists and push their work out. And on top of that, these models are literally trained on existing artists' work without their consent?? Absolutely hate that.

Absolutely despise anything connected to AI (unless related to a medical field). Otome and BL creators already have it hard, supporting AI garbage will not help them.

I hate it, i feel like it would give away from the immersion cuz there would be no emotiom

i never understood the point.. if youre gonna make a game put work into it, its hard making a game put in your effort if you want fans

I cannot bring myself to support AI use for creative work. I will always support real people and their creativity!

I'm not Ok with AI voice. The game, on the other hand, is slightly fine with it if - the big if - AI is used on coding and is checked its performance afterward.
I'm not Ok with AI art, especially all main characters. You can use AI art as model and draw by yourself after. I don't have the problem with that method. Not everyone is good at visual imagination for drawing.
I might not have a problem with background art and mobs if the artstyle is consistent with each other. So far, there are no games like that.
So, I'm not fine with AI involvement in game for now.

Although it wasn't an otome game, I have played a romance simulation game that utilized generative AI.
It was fascinating to be able to type in my own responses—rather than choosing from a set list of options and receive an immediate reaction or reply. However, a drawback is that it sometimes fails to grasp the context of a conversation or provides robotic-sounding responses; therefore, I believe it would be difficult to implement in otome games, where descriptions and expressive language are crucial.

Hell nah, everything that come from it is such souless garbage that I cant believe anyone would use it and actually expect people to buy their products.

Im still actually amazed that ai generated works on DLsite actually got some people buying them, i genuinely cannot fathom how one could buy this stuff

I saw some AI generated covers, but is there really AI generated otome voices out there?
I'd be interested to know which circles so I can avoid them

I just can't accept it. I really hate that mechanical, unnatural feel unique to AI. While AI-generated art has its own creepy vibe, it's especially noticeable with AI voices. An AI voice—devoid of even a trace of human emotion—is just plain chilling. I want to experience works created by humans with actual thought and emotion, not stuff made by a brainless machine.

In general I'm not a fan of AI. If it's a game then it's a big no for me unless it's as a tool to help with repeatable tasks.

For drama CD, for the audio big no, for the cover art, only if it's an individually made thing and financing an artist is not an option, if it's a corporation then stop being stingy and pay for an artist

I can't stand them. I think it's still better if human create that kind of art than AI, because human touch create different feeling and can amaze us

Honestly, I'm not really a fan of AI-generated otome games or voices either (╥﹏╥) Part of what makes otome games so special to me is the effort and passion that writers, artists, and voice actors put into their work. The characters feel so much more meaningful when you know there are real people bringing them to life ° I don't mind AI being used for small supporting tasks, but when it starts replacing the creativity and hard work of actual people, it just feels disappointing... (。•́︿•̀。) I'd much rather support creators who genuinely put their hearts into what they make ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ )

Oh no...in my opinion I hate ai generated otome voice or games....it takes jobs away and takes all the personality and heart away!!! There is no romance or realism or heart in it!! I cant do it at all i really dislike. I dont like ai generated stuff for games/ job related things in general...if it takes away ppl's jobs I dont support it.

Yeah, unfortunately, JP or Asian works seem to be more accepting of genAI art, and I found it disappointing, so I've started ignoring cds with genAI covers too on dlsite. It's a shame like I'd even accept stock photos of cats or plain text covers like we have options here and it's why I mostly stopped visiting dlsite's new works page unless there's a big BL event and my fav manga-ka are selling copies later too.

Also, it will kill the hype for any upcoming BL gacha if anyone finds out it's all genAI backgrounds too, like Godly Love, and it's over so fast even before it was officially released and wasted all that marketing effort and the trailer too.

Then I get odd requests from genAI sites to review their romance text game, and I'm like, plz no if you can't bother to write your own game content, then I can't bother to read it either or even reply to the email. I swear, they know there's a huge negative backlash for stealing other human creative works, but still they find the gall to ask me to read it.

No matter how advanced AI gets, it feels like it lacks a human heart.. There's no emotion, and I can't feel anything in AI-generated works😭😡 I was so furious because an AI voice work that seems to have learned the voice of the voice actor Hirame was released recently! 🤬 It feels like one person's effort is being ignored

I think AI-generated otome voices and games are really interesting. They lower the barrier for people who want to make their own romantic stories. But I still value handcrafted works more. Human writers and voice actors can bring subtle emotions and unique personalities that AI can hardly replicate.

Honestly, I'm pretty skeptical about it. For otome games and drama CDs, the emotional depth and voice acting are literally everything. AI just can't replicate those subtle nuances, breath control, and raw passion that real voice actors pour into their roles. Without real actors, it just feels soulless. 😅
