I feel like I can tolerate pretty much any character trope… imprisonment, yandere behavior, betrayal, etc. But what I can't stand is when a story throws in angst just for the sake of making the characters suffer, without any good writing to back it up.

Is there any story or character traits / behaviour that gave you a big turn off?

- Elder brother/father type of LIs, who saw MC as a little girl, and now want to have sex relationship with her. Not my kink. 😔
- Type of games, where in true end you understand, that it's impossible to achieve happiness in every other ending. Why did I read it then? Why do they have happy ending vibes when it's all an illusion? If you don't want to give other guys their real good ends, just make one single good ending, like in Hana Awase games 🙃

To be honest, some game storylines, such as those that start well but become less appealing as the game progresses, with messy storytelling and few romantic scenes or interactions between the male and female leads, are what I dislike the most! I also really don't like the plot where the male lead uses the female lead as a stunt double! I will give up playing this game directly. The boring plot will only make people feel anxious and frustrated.

Having played several otome games this year, I've identified what I truly cannot stand:

- I hate love interests (LIs) who are womanizers and remain that way throughout their route.
- I hate routes involving brothers, uncles, or any other family members—though I might make an exception for stepbrothers, but only in very specific cases.
- A poorly written route that lacks character development—the kind that developers like Otomate include simply because they feel the need to have five or more love interests.
- A slow-moving plot.

For the plot. When something happens for absolutely no reason, just to move the story along. 98% of the time, it's just piss poor writing, and the writers are just writing tropes instead of a story.

When the LI you do turns out to be one who has damaged/hurt Heroine's family or hometown!!!!! I hate this soo much....it anger me and saddens me...no redemption can redeem it for me. Nononono.:boys_no:

Weak writing. I am of the belief that anything can work IF you know how to write it properly, but I don't think most people can handle it properly. For example, an irredimable LI or a controversial thrope.
