Any reason why you don't have 64-bit? Just curious. Plenty of people I have seen somehow have 32-bit, but not 64-bit. I am puzzled by their decision.

No specific reason - laptop was a gift so...

Can I do something about this game from my end? Well, I basically tried everything you've suggested but I really want to play TMoYK. It's just my luck that it doesn't work:(.

Do you mind giving me a day or two to test a few things on my end? You said it was Win XP 32-bit, what version to be specific? Home, Entreprise, Pro, etc?

I'd be VERY grateful if you could look into it:). I have Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3.
Once again: THANK YOU:D!

Sorry to be jumping into this at the end. I'm not sure if it will help, but Megomi have you looked at the game Properties?

  • Locate the game on your system, the folder where you have saved the game.
  • Right click on the kikuya.exe to Properties
  • Select the Compatibility tab
  • Where it says Compatibility mode, check the box Run this program in compatibility mode for:Window XP (Service Pack 3)

As I said, it may not work, but worth a try.

It would work if it wasn't because of the fact that she is IN Win XP. Those options won't appear to her. It will show from 2000 to 95 in compatibility mode.

I will have to apologize profusely. There was no way that I could make that game work. The game seems to be coded with a program that either didn't support XP or if they did tick the box to make it work on XP, it wasn't enough. Because Vista 32-bit works. Pub Encounter and Destiny's Princess works on XP. Campus - forget me not doesn't, but it wasn't made by Dogenzaka, it was published by them, so the ones that made that game didn't design it for XP. Men of Yoshiwara: Kikuya was their first game, and most likely Campus -forget me not- uses the same engine that Men of Yoshiwara used. Tokyo School Life works in XP. Only thing I could recommend is either upgrading to Vista or I don't know.

Edit: Forgot there's an emoticon for this. :chuuni_slump:

Men of Yoshiwara: Kikuya, Destiny's Princess: A War Story, A Love Story and Pub Encounters was made by D3 Publisher, not Dogenzaka...?

It shows as Dogenzaka Lab in both publisher and dev in Steam. Campus Notes and Tokyo School Life are made by other people but published by them. The new games all were made by Dogenzaka except Malus Code which was made by Tokyo School Life's dev.

It says D3 Publisher in the mobile port of those games.

I guess 'publisher' already states it. Mailed Dogenzaka today, so I know for sure they are the devs. ^^

- D3P is the developer of the original games, namely the mobile versions.
- D3P has nothing to do with the PC ports (except being the original creators of the story).
- Dogenzaka own the rights for the PC ports, but they have no rights over the original mobile games.
(- If you want to report a bug you encountered in the PC port, it's best to contact Dogenzaka.
- Any bugs in the mobile version are D3P's responsibility.
(- If you want to praise or complain about the story and want to tell it the devs directly, it's best to contact D3P.))

So it's like Aoix says, everyone is right. :)
