The End more than makes up for the sad parts

Lemme reckon you with Yankee-kun to Megani-chan and Pretty Face.
Those two are among the funniest manga I've read, especially Pretty Face.
Funniest manga recommendation: Stop!! Hibari-kun!
It's only four volumes, early 80's, and oh so goddamn funny. I don't think the gags translate well so I'd recommend it to anyone who can read Japanese. If you get the jokes, then congratulations, you are fluent.
