I felt kinda similar, I really liked how it all began but somewhere in the middle of the first season it went downhill. I liked when Kirito was a lonewolf although defeating a giant moster all by himself was ridiculous. He was wayyy too OP.... I didn't have a problem with "fairy and guns stuff" what really made a problem was that it lost its logic. I like fantasy as long as it has some logical explanation, but that was missing at parts...
