anime: Sailor Moon (first anime i saw, all-time favorite), Hellsing, Hellsing Ultimate, Berserk, everything by Satoshi Kon, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Rose of Versailles, Vampire Hunter D, everything by Yoshiaki Kawajiri (especially Wicked City), Hunter x Hunter, etc.

manga: everything by Kaori Yuki, Petshop of Horrors, Copernicus no Kokyuu


I'm looking for recommendations on darker themed, gothic looking, mature anime and manga which is why I joined the forum.
