Do you purchase your manga?

For collecting Japanese volumes, CDJapan, Amazon Japan, and occasionally eBay are pretty good for buying them. I've gotten some solid sets off eBay for a fraction of what they would be separately.

I've got a decent collection of about 200ish books but sometimes I find it hard to justify buying manga because of shipping.
I live in the US, so I really only see merit in buying stuff in large orders but it can get pretty costly, eventually I just stopped.

I could get a used book shipped to me on amazon in Japan for like $3USD, but here that will run me up to to like $8-$9 vanilla style on Kinokuniya.
I considered Amazon Japan to be one of the best places for getting volumes set, but my last two attempts failed even after ticking the international shipping options so I just stopped fighting it.

I almost always read manga online, but if I'm really emotionally invested in a series, I'll buy the volumes to support the creator.

No i dont, im to poor :insert sad crying cat image here: or else i'd be throwing money at technobrake xd

Been switching to legit ways eventually, some works are not listed on sites but those can be asked at the least.
I still find it quite hard to proxy deal, through Japanese sites. My English has been getting okay, but trading is just over the top sometimes,
when they try to hook you up for something that you didn't subscribe to begin with... Semi-poor soon again, I hope to snipe Event year book, this time rofl.
Internet has been pretty good, but also somewhat damaging to Japan. I'll try to not hurt them more than I have done.

Quited using local manga/sci-fi shop since they over price regular costs over 4e a piece, they ship tled works from Usa, their dollar price should be the price medium for us too, apparently not.
We get charged more, why? I don't know. So bad business decision's ruin manga, when they should always be at same price here; as our currency is worth more (in number not in as value). /s

I have never purchased manga. If I know I can get something free, I'll will get it for free. Call me stingy, but for me, every penny counts.

I do purchase digital (or physical if they are available) to support the artists if I really like the story and such.

I have bought some that I really like, but most of them I always read online, as the most recent volumes are not available in my country, and it is easier in general.

I read online because it's a hassle preserving the manga in their pristine state

I usually read online, but I will buy it physically if it includes freebies like a keychain or art print.

Ill usually buy physical copies of manga I enjoy unless there isnt physical copies available due to it being obsucre or really old and out of print XD. I find im less lazy with reading books when I can actually hold them in my hand whereas online I become a habitual skim reader.

Usually, I read online first before buying, because I only want to buy it if I like it. But I don't buy every book I like. My rule is to only buy books I want to reread. There are some books that I really like, but I won't read them a second time. I think you understand what I mean.

Since they're too expensive, I don't buy manga very often. But if DLsite has discounted adult manga volumes, I'll consider buying them and read them often.
Ongoing series? No, I don't like buying those because they take way too long.

When I was little, I bought serialized manga magazines. Now I just read them online. Physical books really take up too much space.

Haven't bought any english manga since post covid spike in price. Though I still occasionally buy physical doujinshi with proxies.

its kinda funny and sad.
when i was a kid and have no money, i used to save my allowance to buy a physical copy of my fav comic/Manga.

but now that i am old and have some money, i no longer bought them and mostly read only for free.

I generally read them online, then if I like it, then I'll buy it from amazonjp for collection purposes and rereading them ^^

Inflation here made the prices too much for me to even buy one for the sake of it when I can just read it online anyways. Had a few psychicals though, tokyo ghoul only vol 1 and assassination clasroom vol 11 and 1 (because I brought 11th on accident and lost the receipt at the instant so there was no other options). That was probably 8 or 7 years ago. So online.

online TToTT tho i did buy some jp and eng physical copies of haikyuu bc i was obsessed w kenma and wanted the ones where he's in the cover.
