Do you prefer owning otome games physically or digitally?

i'm super big on media preservation, so i'm definitely a physical collector. honestly, if both versions cost the same, i'd much rather get the one i can actually hold in my hands. plus, i love admiring the cover art and displaying my games on my shelf. there's just something about owning a physical copy that makes it feel more special XD

both! albeit I lean more towards digital these days. It's just more convenient, and the discounts are hard to pass up lol (increased text size for emphasis).
but ofc I understand the appeal of having physical copies. There's something really satisfyng abt seeing your games in the flesh. I guess it's about flexing and source of pride, especially since otome is a niche genre. Owning them makes the collection feel more real <33

I could only get digital but I'd love to have a physical copy to hold on to. Digital doesn't really give the feeling of owning a game

I always prioritize physical editions, unless it's digital-only, unavailable in my region (and too expensive to import, lol), or if the digital edition is completely DRM-free. I'm the type who only buys PC games on GOG, as I dislike using launchers ;b I avoid buying on Steam if it's available somewhere else

I always rip my physical copies to store digitally though, I own some external drives for game backups only. With otoge and BL specifically, when I get it digitally, I prefer JAST/MangaGamer/GOG over Steam; if it's not on there, I will probably download it online, lol

I'm into digital only. I wouldn't even know what to do with physical copies. They just take up too much space, collect dust, attract unwanted attention, and you have to be careful with them. On top of that, you have to pay extra for shipping and wait for them to arrive - if you're lucky enough to get them.

I'm perfectly satisfied having everything safely stored on an HDD with a backup. I understand that some people prefer physical releases because they feel more connected to them and enjoy collecting them, but I'm a pragmatic person - the negatives outweigh the positives, so physical copies just aren't for me.

I also prefer physical copies of games. Even if digital is cheaper I will always purchase physical. I was sad to hear some game development companies are moving towards digital only.

For games I really love, I like owning a physical copy as part of my collection. On the other hand, if I think I'll be playing a game often, the convenience of a digital copy is hard to beat. In the end, it really depends on the game.

I would love to get physical copies of games, especially of my faves, so I can collect them and it's always nice when they come with bonuses or there are limited/special editions, but I get digital because the sales for them tend to be much better. Another reason is that it's more convenient for me since I don't have to switch cards whenever I want to play something else. If not for these two factors, I would definitely go for physical copies.

I much prefer physical when possible.

On a console, I don't have to worry about space on the hard drive if the game data stays on the cartridge.
On PC, it's easier to remember where I put a physical box than to remember which digital store I bought it from and what my password is there.

If it's digital-only, then uh I guess I'm getting digital.

Although I like physical media, I tend to go for digital games because there's more (and steeper) sales on the digital storefronts than the average GameStop. I am more likely to pay the full retail price of limited or collector's editions but the quality hasn't been great for them lately. Localized LEs usually just do trading cards with the characters' default sprite artwork and unlocalized have switched from physical drama CDs to streaming codes (not even digital download).

I share several points here, I see I'm not the only one who thinks this way. Things like cleaning, finding out how to organize the physical games are not my thing, although I admire others for having a large collection. But I wouldn't do the same lol

Still I feeling I own something looking at my digital collection, you could say it's a similar feeling to having cards in gacha.

Also for security, I make copies so I can have my games within reach

I buy mostly digital because there's more advantageous sales and it's more convenient, and also because when there's a choice between PC and Switch for a game, I prefer PC. When I buy physical games, it's mostly secondhand.

Both, though I mostly buy digital but physical with special editions are really attractive. It feels great to hold in hand, also minimizes console memory overload.
