Do you prefer owning otome games physically or digitally?

I definitely prefer physical copies in theory, especially when it comes to otome games. There's something satisfying about actually owning the game, being able to look at the cover art, put it on a shelf, and physically see your collection grow. I also think physical copies have more sentimental value, especially for games that really mean something to me.

But in practice, I've been buying almost everything digitally in recent years. The biggest reason is simply sales. Whenever I see a digital version of a game go on sale for a fraction of the price, while I remember paying full price for the physical copy, my heart hurts a little. So at some point I just went, "Yeah… digital it is."

There's also the practical side. Physical copies need to be stored and taken care of. They can get lost, scratched, damaged, exposed to water, or just deteriorate over time. Digital copies don't have those particular problems, and having my games available directly on my console is incredibly convenient.

So I'd say I'm emotionally a physical collector, but financially and practically a digital buyer. If both versions were exactly the same price, though, I'd probably still choose physical. There's just a different feeling that comes with having something tangible from a game you love.
